Night Cap

Layer by layer
her defenses faded
shedding her need
to keep track
of one thing,

She let down her hair
leaned on the chair
and let it all go
so that going nowhere
was just as comfy
as rain in the spring
and bells that when struck
proceeded to ring.

Her clothing
was strewn
without care on the floor
she even unlocked
her last vestige door,
and rolling onto
the back of her head
she shoved off the pillows
from off of the bed.

Bare sheets
and just smiles
were all that remained
embers were sparked
and fanned into flames.

Sighs became signs
and her eyes
were shut tight
and this was the scene
when all through the night
grasping and clutching
and then letting go
she rocked and she rolled
and she let it all flow.

By morning
quite spent
exhausted
imbued
with stocking
glad pillars
and morning glad shoes,
she wrecked
all the street cars
in heavenly bliss,
knowing 12 hours
were just for one kiss.
