Fading Light
The fading light, once strong and true,
Through dawn, whilst skies so bright and blue,
Hath changed it's color, once so strong,
Now withered at dusk, its life long gone.
Together we stood, united, strong,
Our hearts both knew, naught could go wrong.
Or so we thought, for as surely come dawn,
Cometh dusk, and night, its darkness drawn,
Like a midnight cloak, black, impenetrable.
This cloak hath hidden our light, our happiness,
And replaced with warped evil, tension, blindness.
Your light, like coming dawn, reached out, grasping,
To connect with thine fading, dying light, hoping,
Yet through accepted, rebuked, my blindness overcoming.
This drawn cloak, once whole, hath begun to tatter,
Gaping holes revealing a chance for a love so strong,
Brightness blinding, could invoke a heaven dawn,
Angel fire chasing away the sinister black,
Creeping back, to the hell-maw from whence it came.
This chance, though small, I reach for now,
As I learn to throw off the clutches of this midnight cloak.
I see a chance, feel a hope, to show you how,
To invoke our heaven dawn, embracing thine love.
And so the morning fire angels will chorus, love, happiness,
In a bitter sweet symphony so deeply moving,
As to replace the night, the black, the fading light,
With a new, warming, brightest light everlasting.
I pray thine love, never again be cometh the dusk, the night,
The maw of black evil, the midnight cloak, the fading light.
