Can You Hear Me?
Life is forever changing
Nothing stays the same
No matter how hard you try
One can plead, scream, pray
Nothing will help one freeze time
Situations change
People change
People leave
People die
Loved ones die
Children becoming orphans
Orphans . . . like me
Who discovered
There cold still mother
With no adults around
Almost a year has gone by
The ghostly image of my own
Mother's face
Frozen, stiff
Her mouth open from snoring
Slightly curled
I hope she was not scared
Oh, I miss you
I took you for granted and I miss you
I need you here to guide me
Mother's day is around the corner
But you left me!
You left me to fend for myself
You bitch, you left me here
You left me here alone
All alone
I can't
Stop
Missing
You
Mommy,
Please
Please
Come back
Come back and wipe my tears
Tell me this has all been a nightmare
Tell me it will be okay
Hold me and tell me you are here
While you pet my hair
And sing "my little sunshine"
Like you use too
Why did he take you away
Mommy,
Please
Come
Back
I need you
Nothing stays the same
No matter how hard you try
One can plead, scream, pray
Nothing will help one freeze time
Situations change
People change
People leave
People die
Loved ones die
Children becoming orphans
Orphans . . . like me
