Waking From Reality

It's that moment when you know you're dreaming and you don't want to wake up,
But you know you have to, so you pinch yourself, and you're not asleep.
It's real this time, and that fact has me all shaken up,
But I know what I have to do and I'm just too weak.

It cannot be the way I see it--
I see her eyes looking back at ME.
It cannot be--this cannot be it--
I see her exactly as I do in my dreams.

She's so perfect, her hair so golden,
Her eyes so deep, her hands so soft.
She's just perfect, her skin so golden,
Her figure so curved, her face so taut.

I begin to tremble as she draws nearer,
She wraps me in an undeserved hug, the tightest to ever clench me.
I begin to relax as she calls me names ever dearer,
She then does the unexpected and I feel something sharp as she pinches me.

Sure enough,
I wake up.
I was dreaming,
It's now seeming,
But tonight I'll see her again,
As this cycle returns from grim,
And I wake up from reality
Into my deepest world of fantasies.
