Sinner's Kiss

You wanted to walk far from there,
that palace of the damned,
I told you I'd walk back with you,
too scared to take your hand.

Back then I felt like such a boy,
engaged in games like such a toy.
And for ten more minutes I was a child,
not afraid of chaos or running wild.

I got you home like precious diamonds,
and made sure to tuck you away.
We pressed our lips sweetly together,
a kiss that made my every day.

I wandered back to the neon street,
my mind a rave, eratic heartbeat.
And as of then I felt a man,
no longer scared to grab your hand.

And as I stood amongst my friends,
the people who I love,
I glowed a brilliant and vibrant red.
My buddies laughing at my electric head.

I couldn't help myself but smile,
and nod along and grin.
Wishing I was back with you,
to steal that kiss again.
