Pretty Words
In the beginning, there was only the Word
Then the Word spoke...
EXPLODE!
And in an instant, the story was told
Our existence began to unfold
Created in this image, we all became words
Blessed with the ability to create more
Thoughts to pencil, then pencil to pad
Expression is beautiful, whether happy or sad
Bitter & mad
Tickled to death, overjoyed & glad
From the mundane to peculiar
Extraordinary to usual
We communicate in the past, present & future
We speak truth and at the same time
We all tell lies
But your interpretation may not always be mine
It's up to us as individuals to open our minds
If you can't comprehend
What good is a sign?
Pretty words can spare your feelings
Or change from one thing to another, like a chameleon
They can destroy your life & leave you rebuilding
You can't count all the words in the world
Because there is no limit
What you heard, most times, is what you remember
Like gifts that lift your spirit
All words are pretty
Should be considered a given
That leave you open, wanting to feel it
Whether spoken, heard, read or written
