Darkness
When the darkness calls my name
I fear this horror I will never tame
My soul eventually I know it will claim
When the darkness calls my name
When the darkness comes for me
I search for light which I cannot see
I’m convinced this is how it will always be
When the darkness comes for me
When in the darkness I sit and cry
I wonder if I’ll ever know why
I question whether I should even try
When in the darkness I sit and cry
When the darkness won’t let go
I try so hard not to let it show
But I’m sure that everyone knows
When the darkness won’t let go
When the darkness fuels my pain
I feel as if it will never wane
Any happiness I fell I have to feign
When the darkness fuels my pain
When the darkness is finally gone
I see over the horizon the approaching dawn
At last I’m a duckling turned into a swan
When the darkness is finally gone
When the darkness has disappeared
I see the skies have finally cleared
I realize things weren’t as bad as I’d feared
When the darkness has disappeared
When the darkness returns again
I try to ignore the rising inner din
That tells me against it I can never win
When the darkness returns again
I fear this horror I will never tame
My soul eventually I know it will claim
When the darkness calls my name
When the darkness comes for me
I search for light which I cannot see
I’m convinced this is how it will always be
When the darkness comes for me
When in the darkness I sit and cry
I wonder if I’ll ever know why
I question whether I should even try
When in the darkness I sit and cry
When the darkness won’t let go
I try so hard not to let it show
But I’m sure that everyone knows
When the darkness won’t let go
When the darkness fuels my pain
I feel as if it will never wane
Any happiness I fell I have to feign
When the darkness fuels my pain
When the darkness is finally gone
I see over the horizon the approaching dawn
At last I’m a duckling turned into a swan
When the darkness is finally gone
When the darkness has disappeared
I see the skies have finally cleared
I realize things weren’t as bad as I’d feared
When the darkness has disappeared
When the darkness returns again
I try to ignore the rising inner din
That tells me against it I can never win
When the darkness returns again
