Canine (In Loving Memory)
You found me across town
Hungry, a bore and a little meek
Your hands gently felt my purple bones
And heard the hurt from inside me
The storm was chasing my tail
Left me exposed on a rainy afternoon
But I found myself in the arms of a new home
It's strange to see your kind
So loving and not pulling my hair
Because I was kicked and tossed around
Before your bed became my haven
The storm was chasing my tail
Left me exposed on a rainy afternoon
But I found myself in the arms of a new home
A best friend I will always be
I cried when you left and came back
You gave me a love I could never forget
Even when I'm ragged and unclean
The storm was chasing my tail
Left me exposed on a rainy afternoon
But I found myself in the arms of a new home
I couldn't say I was in pain
But you'll live long after I'm gone
I'll never forget what you've given to me
Because I'll be waiting for you, my only friend
Hungry, a bore and a little meek
Your hands gently felt my purple bones
And heard the hurt from inside me
The storm was chasing my tail
Left me exposed on a rainy afternoon
But I found myself in the arms of a new home
It's strange to see your kind
So loving and not pulling my hair
Because I was kicked and tossed around
Before your bed became my haven
The storm was chasing my tail
Left me exposed on a rainy afternoon
But I found myself in the arms of a new home
A best friend I will always be
I cried when you left and came back
You gave me a love I could never forget
Even when I'm ragged and unclean
The storm was chasing my tail
Left me exposed on a rainy afternoon
But I found myself in the arms of a new home
I couldn't say I was in pain
But you'll live long after I'm gone
I'll never forget what you've given to me
Because I'll be waiting for you, my only friend
