The Edges of a Laced Up Corset
Sometimes you look at her
And you look into her eyes
Do you notice the way they don't shine?
Pink curved lips don't disguise
The movie playing inside
Hollowing out a heart
That used to love to love.
She thinks she has hidden the truth
Of the seasons that have passed
But even after the scars fade
The memories still last.
Shes the girl who always smiles
But shes fighting within
Shouting words at a cracked mirror
That scare even herself.
No words of love and care
Can reach her in this state
Her screams are fading out
Just like her will to live.
Do you wonder where she goes when she is quiet?
Her head will be the only place to look
She is locked in a house of horrors
That she cannot ever leave
For each room is brimming with her memories.
She tries to weave golden hope
Through the white and blue she swings between
In hopes to make them meet
Like the edges of a laced up corset
But the gold is wrapping tight
And it might be the noose
That finally chokes her out of life.
And you look into her eyes
Do you notice the way they don't shine?
Pink curved lips don't disguise
The movie playing inside
Hollowing out a heart
That used to love to love.
