A Lingering Touch
Insomnia
My sleepless friend
Since age of three
When I was
Touched
Can't fall asleep
Musn't
Keep awake,
Play games
He might
Come
''Mommy,
I can't sleep''
Half a sleeping pill
And I'm
Gone
Asleep
Until my doorknob
Turns
And I bolt upright
''Wake up, Sleepyhead''
My sister
''Time for school''
''Get up, Dork''
My roommate
''Work''
And I wonder
Am I still afraid
Of the man who
Touches?
Or is it just a
lingering habit?
My sleepless friend
Since age of three
When I was
Touched
Can't fall asleep
Musn't
Keep awake,
Play games
He might
Come
''Mommy,
I can't sleep''
Half a sleeping pill
And I'm
Gone
Asleep
Until my doorknob
Turns
And I bolt upright
''Wake up, Sleepyhead''
My sister
''Time for school''
''Get up, Dork''
My roommate
''Work''
And I wonder
Am I still afraid
Of the man who
Touches?
Or is it just a
lingering habit?
