Broken
The column has cracked
All the way down
Below the foundation
Into the roots
It is unsteady
Unreliable in its duty
And the sadness is real
Such beauty and elegance
Created by the divine
Gone to pot
So early in life

And unfortunately
No possibility of replacing

Take me there
To the depths of your insanity
Where the demons dwell
In deliriums of triumph
And the horrors of despair
Roast me over your hellfire
That I may view your world
Kiss my eyes
Until they bleed
Sear the memory
Into my mind
That the soul
May deny nothing

Haunted
You can’t hide
I feel you on my skin
Your cold scales rippling
Across my body
I hear your rustling around me
Dropping hints everywhere
I see your shadow
From the corners of my eyes
Though you try to hide
I sense your presence
In the dark corners
Of my mind
And when you invade
My soul quivers with repulsion
This attraction isn’t mutual
When will I
Be alone

Apathy
Pinch the flesh
Between your thick fingers
Pull it hard
Away from my body
And bite down
As hard as you can
Harder as to tear it away
Shake your head
Like a ravenous beast
Let your teeth cut in
Tear the flesh
Again and again
Let the blood spew
Drench the floor and
Ignore the wails
Of this sleeping form
I must awaken

Deep Diver
You bring the prettiest
Pearls back from the deep
Though bloody and mangled
From demons unknown
I applaud your tenacity and bravery
To face and battle them
For those precious gifts
You are quite unique
Your sight impeccable
Your strength immeasurable and grows
With every dive
Your voice beckons me deeper
For I have played at the shores
For far too long
May I grow stronger and braver
To Dive deeper
Than ever before

By The Shore
I wallow at the shores of insanity
Splashing about like a fat child
With my floaties, goggles and SPF 30 on
Mother looks on pleased
I gingerly play about careful
To stay in the shallows
Though the deeper water calls to me
I dare not go any further
As I have seen
People not return from the deep
But still it beckons
No I will stay and play in the sand
Write my name and watch it fade
As though insanity reclaims it
But I mock in false protest
I pound my chest and flail my arms
As though I have swam
In those demon...

I am not your master
But I will lead when I can
I am not your servant
But I will serve by your side
I am not of your religion
But I will kneel and pray with you
I am not unfeeling
As I bleed just like you
I am not your enemy
I will fight by your side
I am your brother
Until our enemies
Have all gone or died
Long live America
