The column has cracked
All the way down
Below the foundation
Into the roots
It is unsteady
Unreliable in its duty
And the sadness is real
Such beauty and elegance
Created by the divine
Gone to pot
So early in life
With a slim chance of repair
And unfortunately
No possibility of replacing
