I saw your picture
I saw your picture, ravishing, but I could not say
You were dapper if only for a day
Its been weeks since we've spoken
A relationship broken
Maybe its better this way
So many things, yet also nothing to say
I feel lost without you
Do you think of me too
Someday we'll speak the same
Rekindle the flame
Go down the same path
Incur the same wrath
I should move on with my life, let go of you
My time is precious, minutes too few
Too much wishing
Wasted time missing...

Winning hearts and minds
Is there a single consciousness
not hardly
the heart wild and passionate
falls in love easily
doesn't care about the risks
the mind deliberate and cautious
weighing pros and cons
always second guessing
I think I've won her heart
but her mind gets in the way
or is it her mind that I've conquered
and her heart just isn't in it
no matter which it is
I still cannot win her heart and her mind together
or maybe
its my heart and mind that needs convincing
not hardly

Poor Aim
I looked up the other night to wish upon a star
All that could be seen were the clouds from the storm
The city lights seared the sky with reflected light
Not a single star could be seen
I made a wish anyway
There are billions of stars out there
I should be able to hit one I think
It must have missed the mark
For the wish I wished did not come true
Then again they never do

Silence
The silence cuts deep into my soul, slow and agonizing
Resentment runs cold through my blood spreading like an infection, first to my heart and then to my mind
It makes me crazy, makes me feel things that aren't real, say things I don't mean to say
The thought of you plays tricks on my heart, you haunt my dreams at night and run rampant in my head during the day
Then it happens you say it will never work
At first I'm mad then reality sinks in, its actually pain I feel
I make one more attempt at reconciliation
What is heard?
Nothing but silence...

Dream
We walk together
our hands holding tight
smiles on our faces
happiness in our hearts
then I’m awoken..
I must have been dreaming
none of this is real
so I lay there sadly
trying to fall asleep again
to be there with you
if only in my dreams.

Should I stop or should I try
I sit here waiting, wondering why
I think about what I might miss
Your smile, your touch, a goodnight kiss
