Period Piece #2 - Sacred Geometry
Sine lines wash over my body, as
Our hands turn into delicate
Fibonnaci swirls. My Flower
Of Life opens, the Pisces
Creates life.
Arms spread like trees
While reaching up to cast
Shadows on stars. An abundance of
Fruit in the most divine
Cornucopia

Stars Uncrossed.
From the very first moment. Our
Paths led to the same garden. My
Flowers bashed and broken, yours
Barely holding on. But they
Grew together.
In that very first moment.
It seemed impossible that we’d
Become one. Endless searching never
Yielded such treasure, only buried
Residue of feelings less felt. But
We were guided not by map, as
Once thought, but by soul.
Lips closed, hearts opened, and
Stars became uncrossed.
Both so brazen, so battered
Until barely recognizable as
Beings able to perceive the vicious
Cling of...

No One Falls in Love with Girls Like Me.
No one falls in love with girls
Like Me. My eyes aren’t radiant
Like the sun before dawn.
My eyes, much like my mind, never see the break of day.
True beauty is locked far behind those of the beheld.
I am not Da Vinci’s masterpiece. No
One flocks to see my timeless smile. Teeth
Half as chipped and a smile half as
Crooked are worth far more than my
Second. My gaze is never enchanting, only filled with timid rage.
My hands are rough - dressed in deep lines and brittle nails.
My hair, oh, how it falls so lifelessly over my shoulders...

Flower Petal.
You float down to me from
The clouds above. The sun
Beams down across your surface,
Exposing your imperfections - A
Slight tear in the corner, a hole
No bigger than the head of a pin.
But still you’re perfect to me. Oh,
Flower Petal you’re perfect for me.
You land on my nose, the most
Curious thing. Your soft flesh
Tickles as you float over my lips blessing
Me with a kiss; a drop of sweet nectar
Falls in between the part in my
Lips and falls cleverly on my tongue. Oh,
Flower petal, you taste perfect to me.

Period Piece #1 - February
I can’t seem to find the
Rhythm anymore. The music
Drags on, but I can no longer
Keep in step. 2 left feet.
1 brain left.
And took my peace of
Mind with it. Shoulder glances
Become the norm and faces
Hide paces behind smiles.
No brain left.
And took my soul. Sunshine
Blinds once luminous eyes.
Baking in the heat.
I’m over. done.

Her Majesty.
Her crown of gold sits proudly on
Her hair. Soft curls bounce around
Glittering jewels of jade and ruby.
Herald trumpets call her to her
Throne.
She opens her eyes. Her crown
Of broken glass and metal held together
With a shoe string. It sits proudly on
Her hair. Soft curls bounce around
Glittering bits of bottle caps and bike chains.
Mama calls her
Home.
She smiles as she descends the winding staircase.
She stops to carefully admire the paintings of
past kings and queens. She gazes up as the twinkling
Of the chandeliers...

Bluebird.
Bluebird.
Take flight
Into the grassy plains,
The air of fresh faces and
Bursts of beautiful color.
All just fantasy to the
Bluebird. A lifetime of
Flying into the transparent
Boundary between 2’s and 4’s
Has left the bluebird
Reality-stricken.
There’s no grassy plain
Only walls and walls of
Concrete ego. The air
Lends itself
To the darkest of
Clouds, smelling rank
Of affluence and greed.
Too much for the bluebird.
So she retreats, forces
Herself to take flight
Into the stale grassy...

Good Night.
Parting with the dawn
Is such sweet sorrow. Triumphs of
The day seem far gone as
Restless minds seek refuge
In restless hearts.
Golden memories fade
Into golden dust as caliginous
Fears take center stage
And prepare for their
Souled out show.
The demons take off their
Satin veils and
Decorated masks to reveal
Dismal faces full with
Promise of an
Unforgettable show.
The stage is set, the
Lights are lowered, and
The thick velvet curtain
Is Raised to the strident screams
Of a full house.

Black Girls.
He said he doesn’t like black girls,
So she painted herself red. Hoping
That the color of love would make him love her,
As the red began to fade into troubled
Shades of pink upon the chocolate brown of her skin,
He began to grow faint, leaving her with the forged memory of
The soft kisses of his fingertips.
She tried once again, to win back his love.
Painting herself with brilliant shades of green and blue,
Hoping that the colors of nature would bring a love
That should come so naturally.
But, alas, the springtime
Was taken...

Immortal.
Your heart beats
Through my pen. For if I
Wrote in pencil, I would
Be forced to erase each
Imperfection.
Which would leave me
With nothing but a
Blank page.

Sunset.
I think about you
When the sun sets,
And the moon takes its seat
Amongst the stars.
As I glance out of my window,
I beg the moon to lead me
To your eyes and give me the key
To unlock your heart.
I watch and wait so longingly
For the moon to bring me back to
You, but time passes as quick as my anxious heartbeat, and my hope
Offers a final good night.
But even as my hope fades away.
Day by day, I will think about you
When the sun...

Never Forget.
Both of us
Were young. Fresh from
Mother nature's womb, still
Craving the soft and undying warmth
Of her heartbeat
Our souls flowed
From the same river.
Made from the same water
That washed over us as we danced
In the rain.
Even when we lost
Each other, you always found me;
I always found you. A connection
So unfaltering, so magical.
Alas, we were young.
And though our bond seemed
Unbreakable, the inevitable
Tides of life tore your soul
From mine.
But I'll never forget you. I'll never forget the...
