i have one book published and at least 3000 other poems on any topic almost and I am happy to be a member of du I am very happy with how people have read my poems. I am very pleased as this is the very first I have ever put on the Internet.

ROSCOES POEM
I have written a poem
for my dear Uncle Roscoe
who saved my life twice
and has been my friend
as long as I can remember
and once operated
the wildest honk tonk
in the state of Indiana
that I ever knowed of
this is how it is today
I can still get it up
I can still get it off
I have to take it easy
coming down the home stretch
but I am stiil in the race
even after all these years
I am very happy to say
I'm getting to like it
better every day

THE LESSOR OF TWO EVILS
It is reasonable to assume
the reason most Americans
hold the likes of Jesse James
Al Capone and John Dillinger
in such high regard is this
they figure even if one
of these outlaws did rob them
they would still be the victim
of the lessor of two evils

A Perfect World
What if we lived in a society
where you never had to worry
about anybody lying to you
or stealing from you
or killing you or even
somebody fucking your old lady
I would even go for this

OLD and STUPID
When I was a young man
I ran a poker game
and a pool hall
I can remember so well
I'd think to myself
they ain't no dam way
I am going to grow
old and stupid
like some of these
old mutherfuckers
well time always tells

and being old and
about half stupid
is my biggest problem

THE LOVE MAN LONG AGO
It was 1968 and America was different then
none of you kids have ever seen America
when people could live hot wild and free
those days are all gone they are all over now
you kids won't ever know what you missed
I never had any enemies at that time
i wasn't afraid of anything anyhow
i was a strong young country boy
I could throwa bale of hay fifty feet
like it was nothing
I was a poor boy for sure but the Creator
had been very good to me I was almost
as handsome as Elvis Presley
being a poor boy never bothered me at all

I AM A DO RIGHT MAN
I am a do right man
I try to do the best I can do
at anything I choose to do
I do what I think is right
when I am trying to get by
in this old world

NEVER TRUST A WOMAN
Never trust a woman
or an automatic pistol
either one of them is bound
to get you in trouble
this is sure as all hell
what John Dillinger
said about pistols
and good looking women
he mentioned it several times
they say and he was a man
who knew quite a bit
about pistols and women
he got it right too
look what happened to him
a woman turned him in
FBI ambushed him
shot him 6 times in the back

Losing your lover
