THE DINNER
I remember it was on a valentines’ day February fourteen
Had a blind date with this lady I admired but had never seen
We met some time ago on one of em social media platforms
A fan she was, always liked & commented on my status & photo albums
Patronizing me with adorable messages her intent I really didn’t fathom
The online friendship progressed the feeling was mutual as it blossomed
There was no reason for me to deny her request for meeting on that day
Got myself dressed in my best outfit hoping to impress and make her day
It was late in the evening...

OGA POLICE
The season of open letters is past
But I guess I saved this for the last
Words meant for any police officer in charge
How come most peeps don’t trust your badge?
You claim to be genuine & a friend of the masses
But so many folks can testify as victims of your brutal excesses
You claim your job is to serve and protect lives without excuses
But when a crime is going on you don’t show up within the axis
Or you arrive late when the evil deed is finished in most cases
I’ve seen you arrest innocent citizens without any incriminating reason

A couple of days have passed my dear friend since I last heard from you
Couldn’t reach you either on your mobile coz it’s not always going through
I can’t boast of many friends but for those I’ve got you’re rare amongst a chosen few
It’s never my humble wish to write you an open letter but I couldn’t help worrying about you
The last time I checked your facebook wall it’s been some months ago since your last status update
Though I know I’ve never met you before but we always kept a mutual relationship driven by fate

VALLEY OF THE SHADOW OF DEATH

(Dedicated to all innocent victims of boko haram, political & religious violence across Northern Nigeria. May the souls of the departed never rest in peace until all the evil perpetrators of such heinous crimes against humanity are brought to justice and an end is put to such acts of terror)
Waves of panic sweep across the north driven by devastating currents of dreadful horror
Hell is loose on earth; innocent souls are lost brutally & violently in an unchallenged face of terror

In my mind I am the greatest of all time
In my mind self expression is not a crime
In my mind I know I’m blessed with a gift
For selfless service for the good of all mankind

THE GREAT COMMISSION
Some days ago I received an anonymous call
From a dude I can tell from Adam I’ve never met at all
Picked up my phone and I was like hello, who are you?
Haba! Was his response he said we were friends since 1992
Claiming he was my childhood friend! it must be from the blue
Years have passed without a doubt we’ve lost contact he said
No apprehensive thoughts conceived yet in my conscious mind
But I was trying to figure out his identity right inside my head
He proceeded to ask me if I was Tersoo coz he wanted to be sure

Word is born; lame ideas will surely bow down
In the presence of superior intellectual thought
Whoever says Boko Haram has got a legitimate cause
To shed the innocent blood should be stoned to death
Things I’ve seen with my eyes will make you hold your breath
An eye for an eye” we don’t want peace if there’s no justice
Bury hypocrisy lets preach what we ain’t ashamed to practice

THE REVELATION
These days so many folks are wearing the veil of ignorance
Unconsciously without knowing how blinded they are
Living a facade life far from reality coz they stuck in a trance
They need to be revived coz it’s sad to see the ignorance they pose
Falsehood is a sworn of enemy of Truth, believe the words I compose
The Devil amongst men would rather have it concealed than exposed
If you are willing to take a walk with me on this road less travelled
You are at liberty to free your mind from ignorance and its shackles

THE HARDER SIDE OF LIFE; YOU MUST NOT GO THERE!
An old sage once told me; life is without a doubt no bed of roses
Here’s a story I would like to share about a kid who was named Moses
His childhood knew no peace like Nigeria’s Northeast plagued with crisis
A kid raised by a single mother it was drama in the family on daily basis
Other kids teased him, feeling no better amongst his peers but worse
Every day he would cry to his mom feeling like he was under a curse
With sad feelings of being a bastard coz he knew not who his father was
His mom was a drug addict she only had money...

I can stab your conscience with words
With my sharp mind but don’t be alarmed
Knowledge is deficit in some folks I wanna upgrade I don’t mean to harm

I’m sick of this gift; been creatively inclined
