POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
in the clouds, writing.
My mind
My mind has branches like a tree,
Even when I sleep like a baby,
It weaves its own memories.
I try not to take it to heart,
But it plots intrusive traps,
When I’m wide awake,
It urges me to heed its voice,
To explore the darker thoughts.
My mind has branches like a tree,
Though I act with prudence,
It still controls my memory.
Even when I sleep like a baby,
It weaves its own memories.
I try not to take it to heart,
But it plots intrusive traps,
When I’m wide awake,
It urges me to heed its voice,
To explore the darker thoughts.
My mind has branches like a tree,
Though I act with prudence,
It still controls my memory.

Process.
As I progress,
Encountering many failures,
I find myself falling
To meet others’ expectations.
As I falter,
Engulfed by past successes,
I’m sinking, feeling
I might never escape.
As I walk,
I constantly feel the need to run,
Chasing time,
Fabricating illusions of stability.
Perched by the window,
I long to see the lights,
Wishing to freeze this moment,
Struggling to trust the process.
Encountering many failures,
I find myself falling
To meet others’ expectations.
As I falter,
Engulfed by past successes,
I’m sinking, feeling
I might never escape.
As I walk,
I constantly feel the need to run,
Chasing time,
Fabricating illusions of stability.
Perched by the window,
I long to see the lights,
Wishing to freeze this moment,
Struggling to trust the process.

sensitive
there are no such thing
as being too sensitive,
if we are being offended
and disrespected,
we often guard ourselves
with deafening silence
if ever it was ruled
to be impermissible...
if they really earned the right
to define someone as that,
they should be required
to have not experienced
emotional turmoil ever
.
.
.
they never should have been
a human after all.

sun sets.
remember at 4:30 pm
rushing to the leaves
in the peaceful forest
‘let’s go home before 6!’
i appreciate the silence
echoing when we walked
you’re face turned yellow
my heart was in shock
you promise me before
these colors of the sky
that you will bring in time
‘one day it will come by’
so i lingered by walking
autumn leaves were gone
the snow made it so cold
the cloud covered the sun
you never remember a thing
whenever it’s 4:30 pm
as i rushed to the leaves
everything already...

october.
i really wish you remember
baby now it’s october
september’s gone but still raining
but now it’s all over
i just wake up from
the rainy nights you’ve spent
i knocked on your door
three times but you’re not answering
i stand to see the autumn falling
back before it was hard to see
it’s past eight in the evening
but you’re not willing to be with me
i really wish you remember
“i will come back in october”
i can pick up your calls now
baby tell me it is not over
i really wish you remember ...

Isabella
Greatest living doll of the high gates,
Men of all the kingdoms have sailed.
Why such beauty? There’s tender lips—
An abundance of rubies I wouldn’t admit.
The flow of the river, carrying a sword,
Muttered, “Why me, compared to gold?
Where I invited them into my chamber,
Take me all in with nothing to hold.”
For I am Isabella, a whore you might call;
I give to those who need my body and soul.”
I recant, “No, you’re Isabella, my only lady;
You’re a poet, the only one I want to marry.”

birthday sky
i can show the colors
that you’ve longed to see
all the sakura flowers
in this beautiful scenery
so just look at the sky
watch the clouds pass
and don’t you just mind
the Earth’s full mass
and when you feel alone
just close your eyes
imagine that you’re home
while taking a deep sigh
just hear the bird’s singing
happy birthday to you
while the sky is celebrating
with this majestic view
i’m glad that you turned
at the age of twenty three
all your scars and bruise ...

One Second Glance
Days passed by while
Watching the clouds drift;
The sky is so blue,
While I’m running so fast.
The moon followed you
As you kept on running;
The wind felt so good,
You could feel it on your skin.
You were learning things—
The planets and stars,
Taking more adventures,
Passion in your heart.
You woke up so early,
Trace of milk on your lips,
But you were so happy,
Doing a thousand flips.
Faded letters on paper,
You had fun at school.
I miss that vivid smile
Whenever we went to...

Window
I made coffee and sat beside the window,
Not doing much at all on a fine, boring day.
I had no luck at work, tripped three times, but
As always, I still feel like I might give it a go.
The sun had risen earlier than scheduled;
I’m always flabbergasted by its magnificence.
It almost wraps the earth in gold—
Damn, the glorious light is just so priceless.
The sky is blue in the windy afternoon;
Kites soar smoothly before the coming monsoon,
And kids play, hopping around like zombies,
Realizing I’ve missed how beautiful...

Forgive Me
I wanted to live surrounded by trees,
So much green in the atmosphere,
Breathing in the dazzling breeze,
And sleeping for a lifetime of peace.
For once, that kind of life was so simple;
My dreams once traveled through ripples.
I opened my eyes and looked out the window—
Kids jumping in a pile, casting off sorrow.
Somehow, I blame my feelings on anything;
Maybe the weather isn’t to my liking.
Yet somehow, I feel the need to run and stop,
But a month of rest is no longer enough.
And they all want me to believe in...
So much green in the atmosphere,
Breathing in the dazzling breeze,
And sleeping for a lifetime of peace.
For once, that kind of life was so simple;
My dreams once traveled through ripples.

Isolated
Been going outside—
To the park, groceries to buy some stuff,
Doing window shopping in the mall,
Trying on a dress I can’t afford.
Been drinking coffee
Beside the imposing glass wall,
Watching the rain create ripples,
Saying hi and sharing stories with strangers.
But it feels like I’m just in my room all day,
Staring at the ceiling, hearing my heartbeat,
Overthinking while listening to music,
Sitting in my darkest corners,
Praying that someone from the other side
Could break down my walls and
Tell me that I am...

Doing window shopping in the mall,
Trying on a dress I can’t afford.

In My Eyes
Can’t you see in my eyes
The only thing that I want?
Yet you still give me choices—
Live or live it all again.
Can’t you hear from my lips
The only thing I want to say?
Yet you still force me to choose—
Try or try it all again.
Can’t you see in my face
How tired I am from all this mess?
Yet you still drag me around to places—
Dance or run to the end.
I hope you see it in my eyes
That I am unfit for this world;
The rainbows have long died,
And the golden rays no longer reach me.
I hope you...
The only thing that I want?
Yet you still give me choices—
Live or live it all again.
Can’t you hear from my lips
The only thing I want to say?
Yet you still force me to choose—
Try or try it all again.
Can’t you see in my face
How tired I am from all this mess?
Yet you still drag me around to places—
Dance or run to the end.
I hope you see it in my eyes
That I am unfit for this world;
The rainbows have long died,
And the golden rays no longer reach me.
I hope you...
