POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Night Dreams
Gently weaving dreams
between wake and slumber
everything is known.
between wake and slumber
everything is known.

Desolate Desire
My passion
has become a wasteland
the insufferable stale breeze
of separation offers no relief
leaving shriveled remnants
of my once vibrant desire.
Waiting
for the morning
when the sweet dew of your voice
will sustain until such time
the thunderstorm of ecstasy
nourishes my need.
has become a wasteland
the insufferable stale breeze
of separation offers no relief
leaving shriveled remnants
of my once vibrant desire.
Waiting
for the morning
when the sweet dew of your voice
will sustain until such time
the thunderstorm of ecstasy
nourishes my need.

Relish the Flame
Written for Missy's "Not me, Not I" competition
Head tucked and eyes diverted
When a compliment is paid
Your heart once erupting
Now extinguished and frayed
Into your shell you retreat
Shutting out the world
Putting on the facade
You slowly become unfurled
That you could only see
The glorious being you are
To once again rejoice
And rise above the mar
To see you smile
And relish in the flame
Your heart does radiate
Discarding all the shame.
Head tucked and eyes diverted
When a compliment is paid
Your heart once erupting
Now extinguished and frayed
Into your shell you retreat
Shutting out the world
Putting on the facade
You slowly become unfurled
That you could only see
The glorious being you are
To once again rejoice
And rise above the mar
To see you smile
And relish in the flame
Your heart does radiate
Discarding all the shame.

Evening Dawns
Settling, the sun casts his golden rays
Through the window pane across disheveled sheets
Reaching out to you with yearning fingers.
His grip is loosened, slowly slipping away
With the rising of the moon, for she calls you
To places not shared with one such as I.
Through the window pane across disheveled sheets
Reaching out to you with yearning fingers.
His grip is loosened, slowly slipping away
With the rising of the moon, for she calls you
To places not shared with one such as I.

Saline and Sand
A molecule of saline
laps a single grain of sand
only to repeat
what has once been scanned.
Every wave
the rise and fall
serving only to
solidify the thrall.
Entwined and entangled
a part of the lips
caressed tentatively
by delicate fingertips.
Eyes fixed
locked in gaze
breaking down reserve
inhibition frays.
Ecstasy culmination
having been fanned
from a molecule of saline
and a single grain of sand.
laps a single grain of sand
only to repeat
what has once been scanned.
Every wave
the rise and fall
serving only to
solidify the thrall.
Entwined and entangled
a part of the lips
caressed tentatively
by delicate fingertips.
Eyes fixed
locked in gaze
breaking down reserve
inhibition frays.
Ecstasy culmination
having been fanned
from a molecule of saline
and a single grain of sand.
