I just can’t get to sleep because
You are my favorite resting place

you are gone
Hands so desiring
To caress your face
Reach to find just emptiness
Ears listening to hear

All through this day
My voice has longed to say
In words addressed to you
Speaking your beloved name
That you might hear & know it’s so
How deep this love of you

A Few Favorite Things
You are
My nightlight
My daylight
My sunlight
My smile
You’re the spring rainbow
And the verdant growth of summer
You are the Fall moon’s glow
And the soft snow in winter
You are
The solid ground on which I stand
The caring strength reaching a hand
The waves that rock me on the sea
The clouds aloft upon the breeze
Most treasured, you,
My Friend
My Crush
My Hope
My Love
My Favorite space in time
My nightlight

Miracles
Long ago
I lost belief
As every miracle
Turned to science,
Happenstance
Or the yin yang wheel of life
As language grew
So I knew
The fantasy of Santa, elves & fairies
And why they skipped my home each year
Their magic was not real
Yet I knelt in prayer each day
Asking for a miracle—
Miracles of speech & survival
Miracles of kindness & forgiveness
Those Prayers misplaced the power—
The strength I found within
To begin Again
Yet now I find again a prayer ...
