POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
National symbol
I have been here for many generations
Rooted in this spot as a national symbol
I see you every day as you pass by me
I can pick you from the countless voices
You are the now, a modern citizen
With cars and buildings, smoke and piss
You are a force, a change maker
I am nothing but a forgotten memoir
As trees shed their leaves and flower blossoms
I see you change with each season
An infant with baby teeth
A child with round face
A youth with wiry body
An adult with heavy shoulder
I have seen you grow
And I will see you get...

You were everything that I was not
First day of school
I saw you in jeans and faded t-shirt
Lazy eyes and sly smile
You were hit and you were fun
You were everything that I was not
First day we went for outing
In the middle of singing crowds
Dancing to the beat of music
Drinking and smoking in nonstop rhythms
You were everything that I was not
First time in library, both of us
We were searching for the same book
You seemed shy not meeting my eyes
I felt something but realized much later
You were everything that I was not
First time I realized that...

Paper Thin Reality
Bright lights and open curtains
Spoken lines and smiling faces
Dancing in harmonious tune
Picture perfect for your eyes
Sweat and tears
Blood and bones
Unknown backstage scene
The paper thin reality
Keep a face more of facade
Truth is harsh more lies
Broken heart lost hopes
The paper thin reality
Come and watch seats are full
Stage my life and my lies
Bright lights and open curtains
My Paper Thin Reality
Spoken lines and smiling faces
Dancing in harmonious tune
Picture perfect for your eyes

Let me read
Let me read
Your lips and smile
What your eye says
And body craves
Let me read
Your scars and moles
Lines of your hands
Strands of your hair
Let me read
Each of your joys
Your leaps and falls
High and lows
Let me read
Your hopes and dreams
Past and present
Part of your future
Let me read
Each of your day
Happiness and sorrow
Part of your life
Let me read
A new story
Of us together
Your lips and smile
What your eye says
And body craves
Let me read
Your scars and moles
Lines of your hands
Strands of your hair
Let me read
Each of your joys
Your leaps and falls
High and lows
Let me read
Your hopes and dreams

Love letter
You know me
We have seen each other many times before
Talked just few
They say you are arrogant
But they don’t see you through my eyes
I see a man with kind heart
A friend ready to help
I won’t say it is a love at first sight
I like you, what I have seen of you
I like to know you better
What you hate
What you love
What makes you smile
But do you even see me
Like I see you each day
Your edges and scars
Your shy smile
I know you will never know
What you are to me
I don’t have the courage to say just yet...
We have seen each other many times before

When Love Comes
Love comes with no drums
You may be sitting next to each other
Love comes at odd times
You may be dozing off to your favorite tune
Love comes with no promises
You may have to walk back home alone
Love comes with no frills
You may have to dress love a bit
Love comes with no pretenses
You will know when you see
Love comes with no lies
You may get angry at times
Love comes when time comes
You may have to wait a little
Or a lot sometimes
And when the time is right
You will know
When love comes and...

Freedom
You can’t give me
What’s already mine
My choices and decisions
Not yours to control
Let me go, space and all
Yours suffering not mine to handle
You didn’t have doesn’t mean
I can’t too, my freedom
You can’t give me
What’s already mine
Express me, my desires
My chances of who I want
You are past but I am your future
You ruined yours but Let me have mine
What’s already mine
My choices and decisions
Not yours to control
Let me go, space and all
Yours suffering not mine to handle
You didn’t have doesn’t mean
I can’t too, my freedom
You can’t give me
What’s already mine
Express me, my desires
My chances of who I want
You are past but I am your future
You ruined yours but Let me have mine
