Death. You and I can never be even.
Truth be told, I've played this card for far too long
I've written this poem one too many times
But each and every time I never seem to get it right
So here I'm writing it one more time.
Even if I took everything from you
Like you took from me
It'll never be enough,
Death. You and I can never be even.
You left a scar that never heals
Cut so deep my soul forever bleeds.
How could you have taken the one I need?.
Is this your way, to take as you please?
She was quite a beautiful soul, truth...

Weight of choice, fear of regret.
She said. "Can I stop taking prevention?"

All I know is I do love her,
And I want to say yes to everything she asks of me.

Lady liberty carries a sword.
They said god's will save us.
They said guns will protect us
They said punishment will teach us
Instead god's need us to kneel and obey,
Instead their guns killed us,
Their punishment broke us
This is why lady liberty carries a sword.
Is this why they use violence to enforce the law?
Is this why they use hell to enforce religion?
Is this why they use education to enslave how we think.
Is vengeance another form of justice?
Is fear the only way to achieve peace?
Is this the reason lady liberty carries a sword?
They say...

To the life I never lived
To the life I never lived
The dreams I buried deep within
The paths I shunned away
The choices I couldn't keep
The secrets I had to keep
And the lie I had to live.
The love I have sacrificed
The hope I have chastised
The joy I never tasted
In pain, I paid the price
The words I swallowed down
The songs I silenced out
The jokes I hid behind a frown
The words that never fell from my mouth
In silence I wore the crown.
To the life I never lived
The chances I let go
The risks I was too...

Agony of being me...
There's no agony like being the strong one
Carrying the weight of the world on your own
Especially while you still young
Being a parent to a house
Forced to take the little and turn it into someone else home
There's no agony like being the wise one
Seeing the world burn and nothing can be done
Screaming caution in silence with no sound
Drowning in the sea in your lungs
There's no agony like not fitting in
Given two choices, to die by this world
Or take your own life
Or die from the things they say that you have to...

To whom it concern
when you read this,
Do not be alarmed or be scared,
Do weep or share a tear.
Do not fault
Or point towards anyone the finger of blame,
I come as I am
Hoping to reach anyone
To whom it concern,
I write this letter with a bruised soul
And a buttered heavy heart,
I have been searching for myself in the dark
But I only find shadows and scars
only to find torment carried with the baggage of the past

I have tried to be brave and strong
I have tried to fit in and belong

Death will take you there.
Every path I've taken,
Every decision I've taken,
Every mistake I've made,
Love that I gave
All leads to a long blinding end
To where the fat lady sings.
I'm not afraid,
I have embraced
We all running our own race.
I've made peace with the things I've come to regret.
I've made peace with the things I cannot change.
its peaceful when you come to accept your fate.
This is something that cannot not be ignored ...

This is what it takes to be free II
Turn a blind eye,
Turn your left cheek
They'd love you for that.
Split your legs,
It's all a game
For monetary gain,
Make a lot of children
They'd pay you for that.
They pollute the streets with drugs
That they give you money to buy
Buy calling it social relief grants.
Politicians are gods
And they you make look up to one.
Give your limb
Give your life
It's their war they taught you to fight.
Stay polarized,
Never be part of the marginalized,
Toe the line, ...

This is what it takes to be free
I actually knows what it takes to be free.
Go to crèche, go to school
And then have a college degree.
Pick a religion, go to church
And listen to the sermon they preach.
Be a man, be a women and never be anything else.
Watch the news, cast your vote
And follow the law
Be part of the system.
This is what it takes to be free.
Have a phone, have social media,
Be connected
And get addicted to...
Go to crèche, go to school
And then have a college degree.

99% of the time I don't think about it but that 1% drives me crazy.
Just to think I've done it
All my hard work finally pays off
It was the summer of 2020
I got a call, come for the interview
176** CNR b**** Sandton is the address.
Excited, I straightened my rickets and got myself in order..
Shaved my head, that one particular cut I always saved for the big occasions.
I looked fresh, I looked stellar
Most definitely dressed to kill.
The interview itself went very good
I came out of that with an air of confidence, ...
