My Truth sounds like complaining...
So that half ass effort others put forth makes me what...
Certainly not an overachiever...
A minimum level of expectation seems acceptable these days and I don't understand why...
You accuse me of being too vocal...
Complaining for the sake of complaining...
Fact is...
I've grown tried of picking up after you...
Watching you stumble thru the simplest of tasks/things
Dodging serious matters placed in your path...
Your a burden but your surrounded by those who think and act like you...
Guess that makes me the...

I knew...
When I first saw you
something was going to happened...
Things however were going to be complicated...
We weren't allowed the slips and fall of puppy love
By now, we should have been established
with each other or at least with someone else
One could say that our paths should have never crossed ...
That's silly because
everything happens for a reason ...

Struggling to make sense of this love that has transcended conventional thinking

A five year old brought 30 bags of heroin to school...
It was in his book bag
Back to school night...
A class with thirty little names on the desks
Seven parents were in attendance
Most were very young mothers, aunts or grandmothers
Only two men found time or cared to be there
Fifteen educators for grades K thru second
none of color
A father cursed out his son ...
a 2nd grader for not doing his homework...

Porn and the rules...
There are rules to viewing/making porn
This is not about the merits of porn
Rather the rules one should/must follow when making and posting
Change the batteries in those smoke detectors
that cricket noise drives me crazy
Make sure the kids are sleep

Each time we have a conversation concerning
ANYTHING
Here you go
Why you always trying to be white
What exactly does that mean
I speak as I wish to be spoken to
Mother fucker , Fuck you, Bitch
Nigger, Hoe, baby's mom,
All words/terms thrown around like they're terms of endearment
but none I'd use in my daily conversations
This doesn't mean I'm trying to make my escape
Owning certain attire

For My Brother...
He wasn't that cat you'd sit with and discuss Baldwin, Hughes
or even current event with
Nor was he the kind of dude who'd listen to Coltrane
Some females thought him rude
but in his day, there were few night he slept alone
While claiming to have experienced love thousands of times
He had but one true love in his life
An unpolished man who could work your last nerve
for no other reason other than you let him
He would steal and lie to your face as quick as you could blink
You'd start to believe his bullshit if...

You told me I was the first
to bring La petite mort to your door
I feel you tense
then relax
I watch you bite your lip
nostril flair
I place my hand in the small of your back for guidance
I need to follow your lead
I know on your way

My past had been captured but it's now lost
Do you have clear, vivid reminders of your past
Placed in boxes, displaced during break ups or moves
What happen that I was so careless with those treasures
There's nothing to show the happier times
Times when life was just an adventure
When it's time for my homecoming
I don't want loved ones to struggle to find that photo
The one that speaks of me
Where no explanation is needed
I now save everything in the clouds
I need NOW to be recorded
To be remembered
I want all to...

Have I done something to lessen my worth as a person
