i don’t spend a lot of time writing and editing my poems. i just write when something comes to my head that i need to express. i’m not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing! but i am excited to have an outlet and a place to grow this skill!

3 seconds of thought
wisdom?
no i am not she.
that was dumb, why did i do that?
they know i’m stupid now.
that was rude, why did i say that?
that probably hurt their feelings.
i have been so much for so many,
do i have to be wise?
must i be friend?
can i be lover?
will i be successful?
am i perfect?
goodnight.
each wake i savor the seconds of pure me,
when i am nothing and only myself!
then i hear it all.
mouths around me yelling, screaming, crying, laughing.
they are hungry. ravenous. ...

the NorthSouth ballad
i guess i like it here,
warm, bright, and yellow tunes are everywhere!
it’s upbeat and catchy, and everyone sings along,
a very good song, fun and monophonic.
we’re singing so fast, though, that I'm struggling to breathe.
is it hot down here?
i’m sweating more than everyone else.
i’d like to listen to something different now…
i’ve been up there before too.
where the music is sundry and textured,
mysterious dissonance and moody melodies accompany the icy blue atmosphere.
the voices are glacial and layered, each...

i want to know, really
who am i really?
i want to know!
i’m begging to find out,
on the edge of my seat, really.
it feels like a riddle, one that you’re asked on a long road trip,
but the answer remains on the tip of your tongue for 7 hours
a phenomenon, really.
i crave individualism and conformity at the same time,
a paradoxical odyssey (if you will),
who am i when not smothered by the people in the seats next to me?
and i’m always stuck in the middle seat, really.
maybe i’ll find out when the car stops.
i fear it won’t ever...
i want to know!

who seeks and sees?
there’s much more of this that they don’t see,
each of these enjoys a unique design
i want them to know mine has that too
but who will!
this isn’t visible to the naked eye
no definitely not,
only its residue lingers on the surface.
surely one must seek and see
to understand its true wealth
is it hard to discover in me?
is there no one who will seek and see?
though, i know One who will.
He is seeking,
only He knows where to seek,
for it is He who hid this in the first place…
a rich...
