POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
will never stop the writes
will's errant way
where there's a will...
...right
what if yer will
slipped out
the summer you broke in half?
and if that will's a missing will
and is gone - a big gone...
how in the wide world
can there be a way?

the summer you broke in half?
and if that will's a missing will
and is gone - a big gone...
how in the wide world

small table prayer
may You bless every family
in homes
in hotels
in cars
in shelters
and in camps
may they feel You
and have Hope

in shelters
and in camps
may they feel You

trek to know
if i should indeed
take it all back
shall i jump out of a plane
fly down a mountain
or drink in a heady foreign place?
these are for others
who tarry daily thus
thrusting themselves upon the world
while i hover
in a place without the rest of the world
and try to let you know
the treks i hear
so you too may trek to know
the coming intimacy
when we tell
what small things we have to tell
take it all back
shall i jump out of a plane
fly down a mountain
or drink in a heady foreign place?
these are for others
who tarry daily thus
thrusting themselves upon the world
while i hover
in a place without the rest of the world
and try to let you know

cry me a river
there are indeed two gods
and i'll tell ya how i know...
the good god brings love and forgiveness
while the bad god brings chaos and fear
for which god do you cheer
god-two brings pain and forever riv-ness
and god-one brings answers and forgiveness
we should not have to triage
what the gods hath wrought
and god-two laughed
god-two walked upon the earth
and here is hell on earth
and god-two laughs yet
i wonder if god-one's tears
will be enough...
please dear good god-one
cry us a river
upon which...

sections of writ
i write about frightened children
and boys torn by war
i write about fairies
trapped in greenhouses
and crickets that used to be girls
i am a mess
by mess i mean
i'm all over the place
with the writs of the gods
and such
i gather the words
as the landscape gathers the storm
the stories are there
i gather and write while here
i bring them to our dimension - bare
i can scarce in scare
take time enough from my life
to get it all down
and boys torn by war
i write about fairies
trapped in greenhouses
and crickets that used to be girls
i am a mess

walkers
spirit mortal walkers
cannot function as earthers.
there are the mortals
who exist between
the spirit world
and that of the flesh
including addicts
alcoholics and the insane
earth mortal walkers
live in 'terra-society' [terratiety] with ease
but those tweeners cannot.
they're a tremendous sadness
to the earthers
who vainly and hopelessly
try to cure the spirit walkers -
to remake them into
the image of the earthers
this rarely works
but the tweener is squared up
into a stern mold...

off the edge of time
someone from somewhere blank
stepped off the edge of time
it was the dryness of it all
a loud but silent sucking
that normals don't notice
but we edgers of society
we're all a-funder and unkempt
within the hear of the non-noise
we know the silent swelling swell
we know that loud and silent well
my communicate is delicate at best
and from under this own edger's floor
i've a screamy trickle
a dribble - down my vest
someone from somewhere blank
fell
tumbled
still slips

shall we tea?
slightly icky and drastically dramatic
is a good start for a book
a book that is found to be slightly ghastic
and more than a little caustic
poorly written
it screams
for a rare someone to peek
and for someone rarer to stay -
to read outside her wavering lines
pique your sense and send your nose into the air
seek the quiet otherworld scent - there
ears now perked to see in hear
and your tongue sliced for you to speak
something even the angels cannot say
peek and stay
the angels...

DNA everywhere
i caught him
unawares
when he left alone
i grinned at his surprise
and said
remember me?
i laughed out loud
in a crummy scary way
mother fucker remember me?
and then i had my way
with my right hand
and then i had my way
with my left hand
and i did i did i did
what the fuck i did
i walked away
his dna everywhere
and his ability to rape
no more

auntie flo's mojo
florence did a thing heroic
she tended wounds raw
forever wounding
she tended to the men
wounded healing or dying
who were once teens
[some still were]
who were once boys
who were once babies in their momma's arms
and florence tended them
when their mommas couldn't
they were loved
when they were sick in their beds
when their limbs were gone
when they went mad in their heads
when deep in nights
they wept and in nightmare snared
they were boys without their moms
and florence was there
she tended wounds raw
forever wounding

wounded healing or dying

peonies sway
peonies sway and scent
children cartwheel
upon the fresh green lawn
old ones cane or walker
to the front of the gathering
to remember brothers
or dads or comrades
and then -
the gun salute
frays the air of the cemetery
and children cling quick to pant legs
war certainly ruins our best
but the peonies and special days
make everything alright
right.

my raw sun
a short one hundred years from the light
i press my face
to the come of the sun
take me away and make of me
just a gist
of a glint
of gold glitter
i fall
tangled
toward you
radiate me with your power
my loving sun!
but you begin to die with the iron
beating in your heart
just as i begin to live within your bright
i give to you that glittering gold glint of me
so you may last
just a bit
just a bit more
feed and live my dying darling
soon somber 'membrance light
will...
