Why I am the way I am
I am as cold as stone for fear of being used and left alone
Devotion I can give faithful I can live but I can’t seem to find someone worthy of those things I have to give
I’m not a “hoochie” who dishes out the “coochie”
My body is a temple and I’m pretty plan and simple
A walk now and then,a kiss that’s not pretend
Compassion, honesty; things that are of importance to me
People tell me don’t seek and you shall find but I’m running out of patience and I’m tired of men wasting my time
I’m worthy to be loved, appreciated and respected but it seems those...

I am stronger
You looked me in my eyes and told me nothing but lies:
to treat me good, protect me, love me, and cherish me; you played with my heart
tore it apart;which now I know was your plan from the very start
But through this I am stronger,I forgive you for your ignorance and for that I will go farther.
I was true to you more than any other woman will ever do.
My love for you may have temporarily made me blind for a very long time, but now you see you will pay for your crime to me I am the same woman I will always be
the one who devoted her love to you the day you told...

We were young
The vision of your eyes I can’t get out of my mind a more wonderful man I don’t think I could ever find. I wish I could press rewind and go back in time this time forever keeping you as mines.
We were young what we did we thought was fun but since I’ve grown up I’ve realized that I was dumb.
I let you go to explore things I didn’t need to know, I had it all with you but the clouds my head was in I couldn’t see through. If I compare the rest to you they will never do
So I must let go, even though the strength of my love for you will always show.
I’m strong on the outside but...

Pretty brown eyes I’ve loved them for so long
gentle smile that has always attracted me to you
quiet low key disposition
I’m drawn to your strength
your not shy just selective
not to hungry at all which makes me desire you all the more
The mystery of what your life has been like
what you have learned from life that I may further learn from you
keeps you on my mind all day long

To My Girls
My girls my ultimate world
love to them must be showed because words sometimes are never heard
Grace, dignity, pride, strength these are the qualities I want them to grow with
Beauty, innocence, guts and curiosity bring to me new experiences constantly
Girl power, liberation and respect
things instilled in them to never forget
Follow your dreams make them your goals and when you grow up to your children and grandchildren there will be wonderful stories to be told
Love yourself before anyone can love you back

What is life really about? Who has the juice? Who's got the clout?
Take, take, take never giving in return how to get what we want is the first lesson learned.
[Everyone] is out for number one.
Greed the strength of the destruction we cause, no respect for yourself, others and therefore the law.
we must rise as one or we will never rise; young, old, uneducated, wise.
When we all rise as one then the solution will have begun.
Life taking, law breaking, when will it stop? How many more strong black men will have to drop.
we are our own peoples fate, we must...

Soul Mate
Me and you forever, or so you claimed my heart is now broken and your to blame my independence and strength you failed to tame. Tried to make me feel alone, helpless, scared, ashamed.
Needing you wanting you is the worst thing I could ever do.
But yes I learned to see through paper thin game, not to be attracted to the money and the fame.
I know he's out there somewhere in this great wide world I wish I could send him a signal that I'm that special girl.

Here I sit, sit and stare wondering is there someone to love me out there.
To kiss and to hold to talk and to share all the intimate things that show I care.

You stare at me when I walk by looking all sad, I don’t know why. You dug your grave now lie in it
Cause I told you from the gate I don’t take no shit and if you try that shit then brotha you can split.
I don’t chase no man but replace a man I damn sho can, leave your ass sitting like some cold ass spam.
I tried to be nice you had to act dumb, you tried to act a fool cause you thought I was sprung thought you had me hooked from licking the pearl tongue.

Why is life the way it is?
Why do parents hurt their kids?
Where do we go what do we do?
I’m tired of this life ready to start a new
Will I make it can I survive?
Will I ever find a man that isn’t full of jive?
I’m strong yes in some cases the best but daily life struggles can put us to the test
I want someone to love someone who’s rich and on top
A man that makes love constant non-stop
Am I greedy I spend before I count; for the love of money that’s what my problems are all about
