life in 3D, see it with me
I said "on the other side, we will be,"
but I forgot to tell you, about what's in 3D,
we have 3 kids;
the eldest is your spitting image and worships the ground you walk on,
he respects and cherishes his mama like no one before,
but he is always his own person and remains true to himself.
ohhhhh, the girl, that middle child...
she acts just like her mama, with the sass and spunk to back it up,
and you better believe she has her daddy wrapped around her little finger.

butterfly
when were you lost?
what made you believe you were unworthy?
what finally broke you?
why do you let it control you still?
catch me if you can,
do you dare?
what's stopping you?
do you fear success?
stand up tall,
lift your head.
repeat after me,
"I am, the best."
you are destined for greatness,
you are meant to achieve more.
evolve, grow, morph,
be, all that you are.
peer through the darkness and see the light,
take four steps and rise above.
buckle up...
what made you believe you were unworthy?

do the work.
step into the dark.
stare down your shadows.
you are bold, bright, and beautiful.
your wit is astounding, laugh infectious, and smile simply electrifying.
you're kind first, a teacher second, and caring at all times.
you have high hopes, deep wishes, and an abundance of love to give.
but also,
you're fearful and dismissive.
you're distrustful of all things good.
you're ignorant of your worth and the value you hold.
you run from your problems instead of facing your fears.

home
welcome home sweet child,
step into the light, let me see you.
do not be afraid,
you're not alone.
this is Ascension my darling,
the descent was an uprising.
you've cracked the glass,
now walk on through.
what do you see?
it's a mirror! but...
yes?
there are shadows.
I see debilitating anxiety and the all encompassing need for external validation.
hiding in the corner is fear,
and over by the window is the need to please, ...

tripping downhill
the descent is rising;
my features are freezing,
I find myself staring at nothing in particular,
there's a numbness creeping about.
apathy is increasing and my thoughts are turning bitter,
my mind is becoming distrustful of all things good.
my heart shelters in place.
I'm empty and devoid of feeling.
I see you darkness,
you always know how to greet me old friend.
can you pencil me in?
I think I'll stay awhile.
darkness will you hold me?
I have missed the solemn solace of your embrace.
you filter the world...

can i see you?
hey! I know it's only been a week,
can I call you though?
I'm flying high right now, but I can feel the crash coming.
yesterday was day three again,
day three is the absolute worst.
well, that is until you get to day five...
you said you needed space for a few weeks to address some issues,
was that just a ruse?
were you hinting at coming back after your volatile season or hoping that would be my final push to go?
I want to respect your wishes,
so I won't call. ...
can I call you though?

the man in the mirror, who do you see?
will you ever believe me?
what'll it take, what'll it be?
oh. em. gee.
"I'd have said yes to anybody"
as much as that may be true,
simply put no other man will do,
always remember, I chose you.
pathetic, weak, and dumb;
destructive, toxic, no middle ground,
is that how you see yourself?
when will you learn, I want you to stick around?
moody, somber, mean and cutting,
is that all you got for me?
I cut my teeth...
will you ever believe me?

here lies confusion, he breeds trust
I'm in the in-between;
my mind firmly in the past replaying flashbacks and memories
my body always moving towards the next right thing
my spirit fractured while holding space for its missing piece
this entity delicately balances happiness and sorrow
this entity straddles the line between content and anxious
this entity is a mixture of chaos and serenity
I am believing while continuing
I am floating while processing
I am using only MY ideals as my driving force

balanced duality and dichotomy
help me peel back the layers and unmask,
unwind with me as I lounge in the foliage of fall,
be my partner in this beloved folie à deux.
enjoy your time and ride this coaster of emotion.
hurtle forward, drop your gut on the loop, and slingshot backwards.
ride it once and know what to do, nothing new to expect.
except this coaster shows a pattern,
a bigger cycle; fall down 7, get up 8,
it must be fate these missteps won't abate.
depressed, manic, stable
manic, depressed,...
