Beauty, as her palm
Glides across her cheek
Disguising the pain
Just as inflicted strength
Delicate, as the stars shine
Against the moonlight
That she provides
The light beneath her eyes
Will no sooner bring her to see
That it’s not the way they stare
Or the views they think
The way that she may present herself
Creates the own she strives to be
Beauty, as her palm
Presses against her chest
Reviving her breath
From the life she leads

Nervous strains; yet to hear his breath

lilliputian flames of red flicker gently above his head
