Ronald Welch and Henry Treece
wrote historical novels for children in
the 1950’s which were brilliant. I was nine
or ten in the 60’s when I read them
again and again, since historical
novels can only profit by not being
up to date of course, but I’m not sure
if the same can be said of myself ..
