Dark Horizons is a little piece of who I am, but it is not me, although I do like coming up with dark stories and making those stories into poems. Not an outgoing person, but love my family and friends. I feel deepundergroundpoetry is where I belong.

The Battle For Sanity
I put on a mask of indifference
Just to make it through another day
At night I take pen and paper
And try to make the pain go away
The paper is gauze
The pen is a knife
They are the instruments of mercy
To heal the wounds of a shattered life
I bleed my thoughts and feelings
Until I just can’t bleed any more
I own my scars and my nightmares
Just like a soldier in any war
I don’t know if there will be a tomorrow
I’m just trying to survive until then
I write words that are my sustenance
My wine is the...

My Dungeon
My Dungeon Is My School
All that people care about is making fun of
my glasses, my hair, and my weight.
Every morning I get up I wonder what
new hell I will be put through.
My Dungeon Is My School
My Dungeon Is My Family
I hear kids talk about love, caring, and support.
All I know is anger, yelling, and crying.

I work part time at a nothing job
just to make a little money.
My boss yells at me for nothing except

Time Is The Enemy
People are dying
Who have never died before”
My dad used to say
Now that he’s one of them it’s not funny anymore
My mom had delusions
Just before she died
As sad as it was
I still never cried
Taught to know that
Everyone will leave
Ending up (deep)underground
It doesn’t matter what you believe
“Do not go quietly into that good night”
A wise man once said
But no matter how much we disdain it
We will all end up dead
As time is the enemy
To all of us, you see ...

Livin' The Dream
Intro:
People brag about Livin’ The Dream
Let me tell you about my dream
In my dream I am alone and broken
Whatever I once had is lost
To a vicious cycle of vodka and coke
And I have paid such a terrible cost
In my dream my self-esteem is gone
I no longer have any friends
If only I had known the fate that would come
From pursuing such horrible ends
In my dream my wife and kids have left
As I disgustingly drove them away
And it was such a laughable sight
When I begged them all to stay

Seventeen children went to school today
Never to return
Seventeen young lives snuffed out
When will we ever learn
Bad people make bad laws
So the bad people should go away
We are all tired of mourning the innocent
When it’s the bad people who should have to pay
Money in their pockets
Is more important than a child’s life
What kind of devils are these
That refuse to feel the strife
People who own guns
Universally agree
That guns and madmen
Should never meet in society

In my dreams
I have a wonderful life
With wonderful children
And a beautiful wife
In my dreams
I make lots of money
I work in the tallest building
And every day is sunny
In my dreams
I have a lovely home
I am the neighbors envy
It’s like living in a poem
I am awaken by a police siren
Like the way most days start
All the pains come cascading back
And the worst one is in my heart
I crawl out of my abode
A cardboard refrigerator box
I have to be able to protect myself

You filled my days with hatred
'Til I ended my life so dear
I died for your sins and your darkness
But I never died in fear
Now I live alone, with many more
All who have cried their share of tears
We're going to kill for the things you did to us

The Scar On My Soul
I never thought this love would ever end
She had always been my best friend
I never thought there were problems that love couldn't mend
I felt a pain like something was burning my soul
When she said she had to leave
They were the words I couldn't believe
It was the thought I could never conceive
That's when I knew I had a scar on my soul
There was an unbearable pain burning through my heart
And it was tearing my whole life apart
It was when the end of my life would start
By the pain that was caused by the scar on my soul ...
