For A Day
I wish... we could meet
With the secrets we keep
Sit by my side for awhile
Find the things that made us smile
If you held my hand
It would touch my heart
Do you think they'd understand
How much it hurts being apart
Sometimes In the middle of the night
My dreams can't take flight
Broken wings... when I hit the ground
Searching for pieces, that can't be found
Did I give them all away
I'd trade forever just for a day...
I know I'm probably better off
To leave this alone

My grandma was a teacher in a one room school
She taught me how to live by the golden rule
I still have her bible that she read
I remember the things she said
I still get down on my knees before bed
My grandpaw stood tall
He plowed those fields in summer
Harvested in the fall
He taught me how to plant a seed
To give to those that are in need
That strip that lies between Flat and Savage Creek is more than a piece of land
It's a part of me and it's who I am ...

We found pleasure in a room
In the darkness of the moon
It's now a empty tomb
Like a Roman Soldier standing strong
I never felt I was wrong

Wish I could go back...

Sixty to seventy-nine was the highlife of time
Car, music and girls
Were the best in the world
It's all been in decline since seventy-nine
