Because it is Spring After All
Surrounded by lights in the dark
The birds sing
To make their voices heard above the traffic
Because it is spring after all
The breeze is warm through the window
And tomorrow the sun will shine hope
Into my box of a room.

Sunlight fell across my feet yesterday
From the west
And I smiled

An Island in Time
An Island in Time
I am a prisoner
A trapped person
A homeless person
A package passed about
Unwanted
Washed up here
In this room in the air
Only the view of the clouds
Keeps me sane
As I wait
For my release
For the resumption of time
For my descent
Back into life
Back among people
Back out under the sun
And the rain
And into the wind
To be blown along
As time passes
...

A soft landing
Too good to be true
Gave me peace
And quiet
And hope
So far from imagined hardship

I imagine the sea

Creates the roar
That I hear through the window

Window on the world
