On Being Human
We live in a diverse world
of people from everywhere
All shades of color
All shapes and sizes
Same wants needs and desires
Same hunger same thirst same fire
Generations of tribal families living on the land where they were born, raised and live today.
Immigrant families, pilgrims refugees explorers expats and people prone to wander living wherever they can.
Everyone and everything beautiful makes its contribution to make this world a better place to live.

I did what I had to do
to Survive in the War
No blood spilled
No self sacrifice
Coming home was the hardest
thing of all and to be so alone
Now it is all about change

A country divided

War Never Ends
War never Ends
It just goes on and on
Culture and humanity destroyed
Lives and resources squandered
Desperate homeless refugees
the face of the earth do wander
How can we ever turn things around?
Perhaps we will evolve back
to a time when there were no wars.
When civilization flourished
and everyone could reach
their full potential as human beings.
What a nice dream!

The Roman Empire
Rome wasn't built in a day”.
We're still living it today
The Roman system of politics and religion, Roman law and Roman plumbing. (shit runs downhill) Also Roman architecture, gladiator sports, slavery and war. All left over from the Roman Empire including genocide. We've squandering our precious resources including water, the most sacred of all. We pollute the air and spoil the ocean with our trash. It seems impossible but we must elevate our consciousness, humanize and adapt to an ever changing world or go extinct.
End of Story!

The Wave
The wave begins
far out to sea
blown by the wind
rolling swells then arriving
at the rocky shoreline
reaching the end of its journey
and with one final gesture
stretching skyward and fall
crashing onto the rocks
and return unto the deep abyss.

The Okie
I was born an Okie. Spent my formative years in England. Traveled to and lived in some pretty strange places like the Ozarks, Zimbabwe and Northern California. And I can tell you through experience that Okies are stereotypically regarded as mental morons, ignorant and proud of it.

Survivors of the Dust Bowl and the Great Depression, only the fear and poverty remain in their minds. And their concerns may be well founded.
However, racism and bigotry still run deep. A fundamental form of ignorance that many Okies transcend but many have never acquired the power...
