Promise
Am I numb or at peace? as I sit here I wonder how different can they be. As I throw away the details and feel whats inside,
I receive the promise that all will come in time.
Giving way to things I didn't know could be,
Closing my eyes because I found a whole new way to see.
Dreaming bigger than I ever thought to dream,
My thoughts more meaningful...

Here lies your heart beautiful and pure
They throw hate at you and you beg for more
Independent and free but you do what your told
Your at it again but it's getting old
Here lies your heart battered and bruised
You counted on me and I let you down too

Passing words and backwards glances
Winning shots on second chances
Meaningful words will always matter
Reaching purpose a whole lot faster
There's no reason to be afraid of the night
In the darkest hour just turn on a light
Fragmented thoughts begin to shift into place
Uncovering ideas with such beauty and grace
Stand and confront whatever comes your way
Then maybe you'll be as happy as I am someday

Letter to Jesus
I need you Lord to save me from myself
I'm dying lord because I'm worried about everyone else
Wash me Lord in you pure righteous blood
Forgive me Lord for I know you are Gods son
Guide me Lord through this maze that they call life
Help good Lord and get me through this strife
Protect me Lord from the devils evil ways
Prepare me Lord for the final judgement day
I know Lord that your light never fails
I've learned Lord I can't trust nobody else
Remind me Lord of the commandments and the word

Walls
I hear voices around me
Their anger and hate surround me
At times it seems they control me
They force their way in so slowly
Sometimes they seem to make sense
They say to cause pain and relieve my stress
If you really listen these walls talk
I can hear them wherever I walk
Everyday they grow louder and speak more truth
With every word it seems I have less to lose
If you can't hear you'd think me insane
But I alone have seen their pain
If you look real close you can see how deep
From the cracks in the walls you can see them...

The journey
Inside the mind lies the truth of life,
circles turning with much insight
Imitation of beauty which guides the soul,
creations of nature summing parts of a whole
Lines of fiction encumber metaphorical beauty,
truth of lies a twisted bag of booty
Circles unfolding giving jewels to traditions old,
mystery of knowledge is reality's role
Follow your heart to the stare that calls,
uplift your minds as reality falls
Into the abyss of darkness,
the hearing of sirens sweet madness call
Believe what you wish,
know what you choose

Through Jesus my salvation will show
The earth the seas and winds obey
So I will hang on to everything you say

Because falling into the devils trap is something I can't afford

One step forward two steps back
Doubting myself but never blaming God
Hating to sin but not knowing how to stop
Hurting in ways that I can't explain
Growing restless because everything stays the same
Talking to Jesus but still feeling alone
Still wondering when the holy spirit will make itself known
Giving up and falling on my knees
Praying hard but still the devils holding me
Fighting back thoughts of suicide
Holding onto hope that Jesus is still on my side
Trying to do good but always slipping up

We're locked eye to eye and now I feel you breath
I brush your hair from your face
I love how your lips taste
Longing for love consumed with passion
Taking it slow just to see what'll happen
There's no time to think just surrender control

Maybe because its Sunday that i feel so satisfied,
Maybe because i'm worried and honestly I'm terrified
Maybe its the lack of sun or maybe its the rain,
Maybe its because i have the wisdom to appreciate the pain
Maybe I've gone crazy and fell out of my tree
