Turning Right to go Astray
I choose the devil
I choose money and sex
Over love and marriage
Why spend my whole life with another
When I can spend it with a million girls
Being unfaithful
Why share my fortunes with a woman
Who claims she ‘loves’ me
When I can spend it all on myself
Doing what I love the most
I could get laid by 5 hookers
For the price that she wants that handbag
This is why I choose the devil
I prefer greed and myself
Over selflessness and others
Why should I care about others?
What have they ever done for me?
And even if they have done...

Don't Ring Me, I'm Engaged
Anticipating the coming footsteps
Waiting for dad to finally hit the bed
Okay he’s in, turn the laptop off
Run to the bathroom. Hurry. Hurry.
Fast strokes of a quick brushing
Smile into the mirror to reveal
Gleaming white stones sparkling
I rush back, text you
"I’ll call you soon xxx"
Listen urgently
Waiting for slightest disturbance
Of this silent night
To disappoint all hopes
Ruin, tear, break them apart
But there is none
It is silent
The only noise is the distant sound
Of an engine roaring, coming to life

A Peculiar Pain
The ache
The pain
The turmoil
I hate this
I cannot endure it anymore
Excruciating
I wish to rip it out
How I let a stranger
Trick me into such grief
To turn back time
Start again
Lead not myself into this
Tell him no
I don’t want this
It’s too much to bear
I’ll never be myself again
All I can think of is the ache
It won’t let me sleep
It won’t let me eat
It is a plague inside me
Reached into my mind
And now it is all I can think about
I cannot wait for it to end
So I can return to sanity
Rid myself...

Backseat
I’m here on my own
Admiring you with your new man
Watching him take over the driver’s seat
And the place where I used to be
You’re all cosy and warm
In the front two seats
I think the heater is messed up back here
Because I’m feeling a chill growing
How can I tend to my scraped knees
With this kind of temperature?
Maybe you can’t hear me scream
For some warmth as I tend to my wound
I’m dying back here
But you seem to be unable to hear me

No Man's Land
I’m in a new world
Where the sun doesn’t shine
The moon doesn’t gleam
There is no other
I’m on my own
The world around me is small
Just big enough to fit in
I cannot see it
But I feel its presence
The presence of its four walls
Barely an arm’s reach apart
There is no grass
But in this place
Out of the Earth
I’m covered in earth
The beauty
And the terror of this world
Is that I’ll never die
I’ll be stuck
Or blessed to be
Here forever
I cannot decide
Whether it is good
Or it is terrible

Trials of a Lover
Disastrous
I’m in pieces
My limbs shake in sadness
I feel a stab of pain within me
I sense a calamity
Pangs of horrific torture
Enters my body in this confusion
God I need help
Please show me what to do
I want to drop everything
Do the right thing
Save myself
But is that what I really want?
I want to go on
Carry on
Hopefully
With a bit of effort
It’ll get better
And I won’t make any mistakes
But that’s just stupid thinking
It’ll only get worse

Chance
These are their explanations
I ask them why?
They reply how
I’m confused with their confusion
And I’m thinking do they really know
What they’re talking about?
They deny his existence
That some big bang made us
But I want to know
What caused this big bang?
Silence
If you ask me
I think it’s stupid
How can you expect me to believe
That what you say is the truth?
You present evidence
Not proof
Which means there’s a chance
That your theories are false
A bigger chance perhaps
Than our existence...

Land of Hope and Glory
Reaching out of a democratic nightmare
I’m wondering who can I really trust?
The men we voted for seems to have lead us on
Waited in the shadows
Stabbed society in the back as a whole
In this land of rights I’m seeing so many wrongs
A prison, ran by a faceless organisation of butchers
Something doesn’t feel right
Granted freedom
So I’ll take my freedom to move
But I can move around within my own four walled cell
Getting out is the tricky bit
So what difference is it outside?
I cannot get out of the borders without being searched thrice...
I’m wondering who can I really trust?

Air conditioning on
A couple arm in arm
There’s a man on the phone
Something about a new job
He seems happy
Teenagers at the back
Singing lyrics to Bruno
Enjoying the high point of life
Before years of labour begins
A woman with her baby
Cradling him with affection
Afraid that every bump
May cause danger to her jewel
The sun is shining
