POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
The Sick October
The End, so suddenly it came.
Like a random rain.
The clouds churned, mixing the darkness.
Not a drop to satiate the Earth's thirst.
Cool chills make their way up my spine,
I shiver in spite of my strength.
Everything will be okay...
Reassurance coaxing my mind.
Step by step, I come closer to the sickness.
Although it's invisible, I can feel it in the distance.
Watching me, watching you, watching this resistance.
The pavement is clean and winding around the bend.
It's so windy I'm tumbling, but my feet never leave the ground.
The water...

Don't Hate Me
As soon as I turn my back, I look over my shoulder.
I may not be a genius, but I know that it's over.
Every night I suffer, every night is getting colder.
I wish there was something I could do.
Something to hope hope for, to make you love me too.
But your eyes communicated my emotional doom.
I hope you're happy, my life is absolutely through.
I wait around where you no longer linger.
Remembering the stone that used to caress my finger.
I plead in my mind, hoping you hear me.
My insufferable kind, I know you can feel me.
I pray for...

Singular
The sound of clinking glasses.
I scream aloud, not a glance.
I whimper, at last.
Laughter dancing off the walls.
I moan in agony, and still, not a peek.
They remember my being here.
Then ask me, "How is life?"
I mumble and whisper.
They nod and resume their night.
I throw a glass, it shatters then sparkles on the wooden floor.
No one looks up, I still don't matter.
I leave the room.
Not a "good night" or kiss.
I could just walk out the door.
See how long it takes them to realize something is amiss.
