Heavens Crumbling
I lay here in a mantle
A mantle of unending chain
A mantle of unending love
Your love binding me
Like no chain could
My heart secure
Secure in knowing
Knowing your love
Is relentless, unstoppable
A force stronger than creation itself
A force that will live beyond eternity
For I am yours
Till the day heaven crumbles
And I am once again
With you my love

The Ferryman
The Ferryman
Death comes crawling
Slinking in when sometimes
We aren't prepared at all
Other times we welcome him
We rejoyce in his embrace
For to carry on
Would mean more anguish
I would prefer to stand proud
With my head held high
While the ferryman Charon
Took me to the other side
And the Styx, it stank like hell
The song says
"don't pay the ferryman
Till he gets you to the other side"
My debt is paid, I fear not
I go with eyes wide shut
I shake hands with the devil
And...
Death comes crawling

The Unbaked Cake
She sits over there
Watching as I write
Wonder what will take shape
The shape before me is all consuming
I can't do this I say
Shh, is my answer, I'm greedy, I'm greedy
Is all I hear, yes Ma'am is all I say
It takes all I can do not to look
Just to write is a chore
She smirks and waits
Like a demented angel
Ready to crucify the baker
If the cake is not right
The ingredients are all mixed up
What can I do? She watches me
My nerves are on fire
Call the fire brigade

Forty one years ago
On lovers day
A day of fire and calamity
Eight hundred and forty one youths
Enjoying the thrill of the chase
And the embrace of a lover
It wasn't the heat of passion
Or that spark
When two souls recognise each other.
It wasn't the flame of new love
No, nor was it the heat of cupids arrow.
It wasn't Whitney's "power of love" or"running up that hill"
That brought the house down
In a flaming inferno that burned Forty eight alive, injured two hundred and fourteen others
And...

Sweet Sweet Dreams
Sweet Sweet Dreams
Before I begin
Another demented night
I'd like to take you all
On a tour, not the physical kind
But more of a trip through
Both of the vast wasteland
And the Amazon forest of my mind
Being the creature of self-discovery
I travelled down that yellow brick road
Fell down that rabid rabbit hole
Woke up in a matrix of confusion
So many untravelled sites to explore
I ventured through them
Not sure if I got them all
My dammed soul kept
Me crawling back to a part
I'd rather not have found...

Standing on this ancient mound
Shrouded in mist
Twelve foot tall stones
Creating a circular mystique
Stories of a long forgotten culture
Bringing together fables and myth
Stone inscriptions indiscernable
Symbols hiding their lost meaning
The Triskelion represents strength and progress
Over five thousand years old now
Other ancient druid carvings
Marking these monuments
As their offerings to the gods
That once roamed these celtic lands
Long before that Bethlehem child
And his twelve henchmen
Ever walked...
