POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
Driven by a mad Irish muse, I write when she tells me to. I have little control over the content, structure or subject but I do enjoy her poems.
Affair
Incoming call. I hesitate, probably a wrong number. It goes to voice mail. No message. Definitely wrong number I decide. It comes again, spurs my curiousity.
"Hello?"
"Jamie?"
My whole body reacts, stomach contracts, pulse jumps, breathing speeds up, i feel a distinct hardening in my non thinking head.
"Tricia? Is that you? Whose number is this?"
"Mine, I bought a RICA-ed SIM down near Bellville station. I can't afford to be found out. Not yet."
I am dumbfounded, excited, guilty. I might as well be a sixteen year old boy...

Moon Drenched
I walk, dream laden, down a silvery, bone white road
It glides before me, endless
Like the cotton sheet that slid down your thighs,
Caressed your slick sweat glistening skin
Moon light lightly touches your breasts
Your belly, you open thighs.
Exposing, your secret places,
My hand intruding dark shadowy stranger
Your sighs, deep, harsh, guttural
Echo between us urging us on to
Mutual the incandescence of
Our moon silvered union
We glided then, silent, still one
On that sheet white road,
As my hands hands had glided down the
Warp and...

One Night Stand
morning sunlight
streaks of drying lust
languid sighs
magic flees
reality returns
streaks of drying lust
languid sighs
magic flees
reality returns

After the Storm
Silver grass seeds in a sea of green
Dance and nod in the remnant breezes
Left behind by the raging storm wind
Torn trees, broken roads, oily sheen
On road puddles ripple in the breeze
Storm is gone as if it had never been.

Soft Breathing
Soft breathing in the dark,
Warm body next to me
You shift and moan softly
Reliving our earlier passion?
Warm body next to me
You shift and moan softly
Reliving our earlier passion?

Damaged Goods
We are damaged goods
You and I
We stand locked in an
Embrace of
Mutual support or
Mutual misery.
Storm fronts of
Re-awakened memories
Surge and swirl around us.
We weep
Tears of grief,
Tears of pain
Tears of anger
Remembering
Demons that rode us
Long decades ago
Demons we believed were
Gone, consigned to the
Wasteland of the past
Suddenly are here again.
In the here and now and
Unexpected and somehow
Forgotten, they gain
Access to our hidden selves
Tear the veil of memory
Open.
