Can't You See Me Yet?
Last night, I dreamt that I was hollow.
So empty,
That I became transparent.
Full of nothing but air,
I stood there, clear like glass.
You could see right through me.
I felt my organs slowly disintegrate,
Decaying into dust,
Taking my identity with them.
I swallowed and my chest came to grief,
Ribs breaking in,
Imploding into a deep, empty cavity.
With the breeze, my skin fell off like a glove,
Puddling around my ankles.
Just sitting in its own self pity.
Then...
So empty,

Tonight is one of those nights where I'm laying in bed for hours trying to sleep. But against all of my efforts, I can't shut my brain off because I can't get comfortable. I don't feel like this is my bed, I don't feel I belong. I don't have a place at all. I just want to curl up into a ball, close my eyes, and wait for some larger force to remove the world around me. Pick it off, atom by atom. Then lift me up and place me in an environment where I belong. So that when I open my eyes again I'm surrounded by all that makes me flourish. And I can lay in peace without the discomfort of this...

Forget
Shut your eyes.
Forget.
Forget how their laugh
Made everything weightless.
Forget.
Forget how their tone
Switched over when they were irritated.
Forget.
Forget how their touch
Would mend your broken heart.
Forget.
Forget how their expression
Became heavy at night.
Forget.
Forget how their tired voice
Was the cutest sound to your ears.
Forget.
Forget their shallow breathing
When they were sleeping beside you.
Forget.
Forget that look they had in their eyes
When you were the first thing they saw when they...

One of Those Nights
It's just
Another one of those nights.
The heavy blackness,
Lack of motivation.
I don't want to budge,
Or even bother
To stand out of the shower.
And for now,
My closest friends
Are the sentences merging
So fast between my temples
That I can't get a grip
On a single one.
And every evening
The showers gain heat
As well as length.
And one night,
The water will boil.
My skin will welt,
And eventually melt off.
Then you'll come home
To find me
A lonely collapsed
Vacant skeleton,
Waiting for someone...

Empty and Unchanged
If you want me to describe
How being empty feels like
I'd say it's like being a carcass
And your muscles and bones
Become invisible.
Your whole being is nothing
But a vessel, an empty one.
Your life could walk past you
And you wouldn't,
Couldn't,
Reach out to it.
But the worst part
Is when you breathe.
When you exhale,
The only thing filling you up
leaves you, too.
How being empty feels like
I'd say it's like being a carcass
And your muscles and bones
Become invisible.
Your whole being is nothing
But a vessel, an empty one.
Your life could walk past you
And you wouldn't,

Please come home??
I wasnt expecting you to call,
but when you did
I was surprised.
You remembered my number after so many years.
I tried to hold back the tears,
I fought to choke back
the words I knew would end it.
You've found someone else,
and your having his baby.
You seem to be happy,
but under your breath,
I know you better than that.
I know who you are,
I know what you look like
on the inside.
You're not fully happy,
You still need something.
I wish that something was me....
but when you did
I was surprised.
You remembered my number after so many years.
I tried to hold back the tears,
I fought to choke back
the words I knew would end it.
You've found someone else,

Devour Me
I promise
That every evening
Before the night
Swallows this already blackened world
I'll tell you
I love you.
And I'll tell you
How important
You are
In the quest
To save my heart
From being devoured
By the hungry
Growing darkness
That is quickly engulfing
All of humanity.
That every evening
Before the night
Swallows this already blackened world
I'll tell you
I love you.
And I'll tell you
How important
You are
In the quest
To save my heart
From being devoured
By the hungry
Growing darkness
That is quickly engulfing
All of humanity.

Midnight Nightmare
And once again
Here I am.
In bed with sore, red eyes
That are full of restless nights such as this.
Woken by the sound of your voice
And the feeling of your presence.
Jolted into a sitting position
Drenched in cold sweat and hot tears that burn my eyes.
I look around my dark room rapidly
Only to be let down by the silence of the four walls
Surrounding me, and me alone.
I lay on my back and close my eyes
Then I felt your lips against mine.
I opened my eyes again, to see nothing.
Over come by the memories ...
Here I am.
In bed with sore, red eyes
That are full of restless nights such as this.
Woken by the sound of your voice
And the feeling of your presence.
Jolted into a sitting position
Drenched in cold sweat and hot tears that burn my eyes.

One Day
One day
You'll meet a woman
With luscious lips
Snow white teeth
Beautifully captivating eyes
Sharp features
And a toned body to match
Her voice will be enticing
Her words will be inviting
The way each syllable
Rolls right off of her tongue
Then between her lips
Will drive you mad
Her bitten red lips will be so
Tempting
Her piercing, seductive stare will be so
Breathtaking
Her sweet, shy smile will be so
Misleading
You'll crave her
With every fiber of your being
But despite all of that...
You'll meet a woman
With luscious lips
Snow white teeth
Beautifully captivating eyes
Sharp features
And a toned body to match
Her voice will be enticing
Her words will be inviting
The way each syllable
