Martial Arts in the Park

cinema sky
suffused blues
like hues of eyes
summer cotton
marmalade July
and the fallen pollen
like gold dust cries
starlight beams
spilling night
streaming dreams
into reservoir light
the dance of day
the fight of night
and a cinema sky
on a free write night
prowess and prayer
art and life
spark in the heart
heart in the dark
shape shifting show

She is wild
Desolate
Savage in her way
Uninhibited in her cantor
As wild horses play
She is Catori
Boundless and free
She knows no borders
That wild eyes see
Contrary yet lucid
Content to clash
When confined she will stir
And rescues herself in a vigorous dash
She will sail
She will soar
She rises
She glows
Nor path nor guide
She artlessly goes
Sweeping the coastlines
A runaway from home
Storming new ventures

Storms Of Pain
Startling is the storm
That shakes me from sleep
Drowning dreams from my head
As it rattles me from my bed
And as the downpour cries
From charry smudged skies
I weep of a dampened heart
And the dam breaks my eyes
Soothing is the rain
That sings my soul to sleep
The cooling blue sound
Silence all around
My whimpering heart sighs
I close my flooded eyes
Healing from the rain
Brought by storms of pain
That shakes me from sleep
Drowning dreams from my head
As it rattles me from my bed

To be your friend
To be your friend
Like a child finishing vegetables
Just for permission to play
pushing aside the plate
Pleading wide-eyed and clasped hands
Mom gives the nod
Hurriedly, I rush out
And before the screen door shuts
I have made it to the end of the sidewalk
I race heavy footed to the playground
For I know you will be there
And it is always magical when we are together
To be your friend
You are in the distance waving
Wearing the same smile...
