In Lockdown With You
Bojo's directives got me in lock down
The whole world at stand still
Stay home and social distance, he said
But how do I go the extra miles without you
How do I fill my days without you by my side
How do I get by the fear of the unknown
Uncertainties and insecurities mar my days
Loneliness and anxiety consume my nights
Though Facetime breaks the distance
And your voice calms the fears
I long for a hello kiss or goodbye hug
A human touch to reignite the flame

You Destroyed Me
A devastating storm you were
Hurricane Katrina on a warpath
Leaving no stone unturned
Incommunicado for weeks on end
Only breaking the silent pause
To spew words, acidic enough
To wipe off, corrode and disintegrate
My sanity, my identity and my being
Leaving me a shell of my former self
A reincarnation of Narcissus you were
A Greek Mythology in modern times
Concealing your true intentions
Of spite and contempt
But a rising Phoenix I am
Surrounded by the Amazons
My strengths and pillars
Stitching...

If I Told You My Fears
If I told you my fears
Would you Love me hard enough
To tear down the heavy iron gates of life
That I encassed and bolted myself in
To safeguard my fragile heart
Afraid to fall in love again
Or would you turn around and walk away
If I told you my fears
Would you still stand besides me
And hold my hand firmly, afraid to let go
Incase I slip through your fingers
as we take the journey of love together
Igniting my dimmed inner light along the way
Or would you turn around and walk away
If I told you my fears ...
Would you Love me hard enough

Gone Too Long
Out of mind, out of sight they say
But the heart does not forget
Hanging dearly to the sweet memories
Like the last leaves of Autumn
With each passing day and night
The yearning and longing intensifies
The farewell kiss still fresh on my lips
Like Morning dew on a Cold winter day
Your after shave lingers in our room
Like the essence of Arabia night
If only we could reconnect in our dreams
Then I would hold you for a little longer
Kiss you more passionately
Hug you a little tighter
For it's the insignificant moments ...
But the heart does not forget

I'm caught up in an emotional Tug of War
An egotistical love of push and pull
Where Love drew you to me
But Ego drew you away from me
Two opposing forces
Fiercely battling against one another
Turning our love affair into an ego battleship
A Manipulative game of thrones
Where no one triumphs
But someone has to pick up

From a Distance
I need to love you from a distance
As my heart bleeds to keep you close
For the distance shields the pain
The pain of a broken heart
Pounding so loudly through my chest
Like the Indian festival drummers
If only I could shut down
The fears and nightmares
That keep the nights longer
Or the memories that were never to be
Our dreams lost in transcript
Your sweet words i longed to hear
Replaced by backhanded compliments
The rejection overwhelming
Praying the mask would finally fall off
And return my love once more, ...
As my heart bleeds to keep you close

Rough and rugged around the edges
And tempestuous in character
And just like Montserrat's Soufrière Hills volcano
Always ready to erupt on a whim
To Protect and provide is your intention
Thug style is how you know best
Charging forth like a three-horned Ram
A Bonnie and Clyde classic remake
Metaphorical juxtaposition of your past life
But am no ordinary concubine
A reincarnation of Queen Sheba
And just like a game of chess
The Queen protects her King
Like a lioness protects her pride
Frontliner to his ego and concealed...

Second Best
I was in love with your smile, your voice,
Your body, your laugh
And the way your eyes undressed me.
You reminded me what butterflies felt like
How ordinary moments can feel so magical
And what an extraordinary experience it was
To have someone make me feel
So much better about myself
Or even how someone special
Could bring my smile back.
The connection felt so real
As rare as a blue rose.
and then just like that
you made me feel so unwanted
Like a thorn on a rose tree
Your stare followed her around the room ...
Your body, your laugh
And the way your eyes undressed me.

Today you held my hand for the last time
And told me how much I meant to you
The only woman you ever loved you said
How I wish you'd told me that yesterday
Today you planted my favourite flowers
Magnolia, Gardenia and Freesia
So I can smell them for eternity
How I'd waited for a single rose from you
Today I lay here alone once again
Like the long nights and days

The Other Woman
One bite of the forbidden fruit
And I was totally hooked
The yearning, the longing and the wanting
Increasing by every shared moment
How then do you drop on me
A Nagasaki and Hiroshima
That I am not the only woman
But the other woman
When my emotional connection,
And Physical reacquaintance
Knows the delectable side of the coin
How then do I remain nonchalant
When my heartstrings want to snap
Yet every part of me still wants you
Even though you're not mine to keep
