POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
I write about issues that concern me and I think that is why my works are so emotional. In high school I entered and was published in three anthologies. I love when my poems can ignite conversations and others to want to write as well.

Poet's Un-Apology
Whistling winds rattling
Battling combatant unseen
Wailing limbs unlanding
Flailing and failing, falling
Taken when consciousness stalling
Cut like a puppet's strings
Plummet to relish the calming pains
Of the vultures songs sung circling
Crying you needn't wollow in misery
To follow the Gallows' mystery.
This time there will be no poet's apology.
Look past foolery of rhyme
This a eulogy of time
Captured essence lost in distance
Fading memory belies harmony
Armoury mines incise inside
Disguised minds...
Battling combatant unseen

Flailing and failing, falling
Taken when consciousness stalling
Cut like a puppet's strings
Plummet to relish the calming pains

Crying you needn't wollow in misery

Snapshots
Snapshots taken in times of quiet,
The remembered moments of each seed sown
Scrutinized and agonized, organized
Befitting a Hollywood show.
What is yes movie seen?
Does each scene bring tears to eyes?
Truth or lies?
Are you presented transparent as rain
or reign in disguise?
A prized hero or villainous antithesis
- what is your role in this snapshot display
Played before gates of pearl?
The passing now but a whisper
upon wind whirling
As a soaken log goes birling
Not forgotten but none the mourned. ...

Eyes Alight
Eyes alight exorcize night's unseen sight
bring about lucidity in times of insanity
claiming chaos
knowledge in a world uncertain.
What, by chance, lead this to happen?
With masks adorned we're never mourned
when warned not've scorned horned
media beasts
throned through years forewarned ignored.
By leaders we were suborned.
In shelters claustrophobic now breathing
a new day breaking with life re-opening
gather clauster
rediscover what comes familiar.

DIVISION (freestyle lyrics)
I'm hella proud to be Cree and Métis,
The grandson of a German-Hungarian/
But everytime I see a bulletin
Of another Indigenous woman gone missin'
I feel a division inside of me/
Even though I try hard to hide it,
Constantly feel divided straddling the fence/
Like, I'm pissed at rates
Indigenous women and girls disappear without a trace/
But does my White face mean
I should join the protest or check my place/?
Fighting with my privilege
But praying it ain't my family taken away/
Know silent ain't somethin' I can stay...
The grandson of a German-Hungarian/
But everytime I see a bulletin
Of another Indigenous woman gone missin'
I feel a division inside of me/
Even though I try hard to hide it,
Constantly feel divided straddling the fence/
Like, I'm pissed at rates
Indigenous women and girls disappear without a trace/
But does my White face mean
I should join the protest or check my place/?
Fighting with my privilege
But praying it ain't my family taken away/
Know silent ain't somethin' I can stay...

Solstice written with amari25
June 19th, two minutes to midnight
Darkness falls amongst clouds inside my mind
[Can I sustain long enough for the light to shine through the darkness or will it consume me?]
Tomorrow's beginning, I know will exorcise these thoughts by the summer solstice light.
[Hoping the spring rain washes away the despair,
The light of summer makes the knife disappear.]
By the clock perched beside thy bed,
I feel the totality of the zero hour toll
Through the fog of last night, a shimmer of fight shines
As invisible birds chirp their love song, ...

Mary's Song
Let me tell you a story
Of a girl I met in January named Mary/
Used to sit beside me in university psychology/
I remember first day of
Second term I was
Too shy to even say “hi”
Taken by the beauty of her
Brown skin, hair, and eyes/
Soft-spoken, hard workin’, quick thinkin’
Intelligent, always staying on the
Straight and narrow
Never veering off the path she was meant to follow/
Pretty quickly we became friendly
No romances, no private dances
Though we started hanging out
Between classes/
Week after...
