Inside My Mind
He used to love me. I know he did because the nights we'd lie amongst the stars, he'd kiss every part of me and sing the sweetest of lullabies. His rugged body shone in the moonlight like a statue. Hard as diamond, smooth as silk. As I'd run my fingers over his chest, I'd think back to times past. Times embedded so deep in my long-term memory that they'd almost seemed fantastic. His embrace reminding of the days my daddy would cradle me. I think that's why I loved him. I think I used to love me too. This man, so much like my own father, held me. The Wings of Time
Dreams. Hopes. Aspirations.
All rest on the wings of Tomorrow, and I wonder if I'll ever make it there. I'd like to think of Tomorrow as some fairy tale land far away where little girls don't have to grow up and evil men are punished for the crimes they commit. I'd like to think of it as a place of escape from all of the pain caused by yesterday, a place where I won't be punished for this beautiful mahogany that many call skin, somewhere that my anatomy won't bring about the demise of men.
