You consume my every thought so it seems
Your familiar face haunts me in my dreams
My soul yearns for your comforting presence
My heart weeps in your overwhelming absence
My lips long for your intoxicating kiss
I swear I have never felt like this
My skin aches for your gentle touch
I have never wanted anyone so much
Your soothing voice echoes in my mind

When life doesn't go your way
You are never there
Yet you swear you care
When I need you most
You disapeer like a phantom, a ghost
You've always told me to be tough
I know I will never be good enough

Retaining
Holding onto a mournful past
Reaching for something just beyond my grasp
Trying to let go, to forget what happened last
Looking for an escape from the darkness within
Waiting for a love I may never feel again
Searching for his face in the wind
Longing for his caring essence
Missing his intoxicating presence
Knowing he is gone for good
Losing all hope, why am I so misunderstood?
Regretting all I have done
Feeling it was my fault from the moment the pain had begun
Attempting to love another with all my will

Shattered
Sitting on the cold, wet concrete
Bare feet dangling in the fountain
Wishing the water could wash the pain away
Sobbing, regretting what she was about to do
Blade in hand,
slowly slicing into the pale flesh of her thin wrist
Footsteps coming slowly, cautiously
He sees her, tears staining her frightened face
Holding her, this stranger he tries to console
Whispering, "Everything will be alright"
Days, weeks, months together
Promising to never leave her alone
She is keeping secrets though
Knowing she should tell him
