Hidden Desires
She plays it too cool.
Too cold. Too casual. Too quiet.
So she will never be too much, too loud, too intolerable.
She says nothing, she doesn't initiate. She follows cues, only reflecting what is given.
She becomes too plain.
But she likes to touch, to taste, to cry, to be afraid.
She wants to feel anything other than the everyday.
She likes to listen, to offer hope,
To make you feel less strange.
She will tell you, you belong
You have a place.
And she will hide away.

If I could chose you I would
But the decision is not solely mine
You'd have to choose me
Choose hope choose life.
I watch you choose fear
It hurts
Knowing what I know
The wisdom I've grown.
Reluctant to be near
The worst
Sowing what I sow
It should be clear.
That I am safe.
That I am real.
There is a way
To think and feel,
great feelings, great thoughts.
It's not all, pain and hurt.
I know my worth.
That you don't see.

I see in shades of questioning.
Never certain of anything.
Except of my inner self. Raw gold unchatered, unchanged, untapped potential.
The outerself a mish mash of distractions, stupid thoughts, the unessential.

I can do it all
I raise my kids
Clean my house
Groom my pets
Study my degree
Work my jobs

I never had the right answers
