Live or Die Trying
Falling from grace
Has a hard landing
But before I beg to live
I'll proudly die standing
Because pleading for mercy
Is not the life for me
I'll gladly sacrifice eternity
If I can die free
My wingspan far exceeds
The walls of this cage
That you happily bound me to
Due to anger and rage
I won't be taken easily
I refuse to go without a fight
I'll die for what I believe
Whether or not I'm wrong, I'm right
So this is your one warning
This is not for the faint of heart
Because I'll live or die trying...

Taking Me Under
I fall into your arms
Melting like ice in coffee
I simply can't resist
Your allure, your temptation
Your come-hither eyes
Capture my ever-wanting soul
The air that you breathe
Is pulled from my own weak lungs
Whithout your presence
I am defenseless and frail
Alone I am dead
Or so you'd have me believe
Like a leech you ate
Off my flesh, my very soul
Dragging me to hell
Along with your sins and guilt
So naive I was
To your bitter, selfish ways
A delicate mask
Hid the murderess...
Melting like ice in coffee

Death Becomes Her
She stumbles through life
Just a streak, a blur
In the corner of everyone's eye
Always by herself
Always looking down
Peeking through her hair at happy girls
She finds her way home
Rushing to her room
To write in her journal...it doesn't help
At last she decides
To end her troubles
Dying to mend her cold, broken heart
The next morning comes
Her mom calls to her
Breakfast waiting for her as always
When no answer comes
She taps on her door
As it opens, breath can't find her lungs
Her daughter...
Just a streak, a blur

Always by herself
Always looking down

She finds her way home
Rushing to her room

I don't know what I want
I don't know what I need
I wouldn't tell you if I did
Cause I keep these things to me
I hide in my room
I cry in the dark
I dream the journey
On which I'll never embark
I wanna forget my problems
I want the rain to wash them away
I want to run to the desert
Instead of drowning in this liquid pain
I wanna hear music in sorrow
I wanna hear laughter in tears
I want purity to overwhelm the hurt
That's been building up inside of me for years.
I allow my pen to leak the anger overflowing...
I don't know what I need
I wouldn't tell you if I did
Cause I keep these things to me

Bleeding Crimson Rain
The moon herself screams in agony
The stars cry for my pain
Mother earth holds me close
As the sky bleeds a crimson rain
My tears shatter on the ground
And the icy liquid freezes over
My own spirit leaves my soul
So I hide under this devilish cover
Darkness envelops my heart
Like a vine grasping a tree
Its burning fingers with such a hold
Pull me under the surface of the sea

Abandoned Blood
Please don't make me
Please let me stay
I can't go back yet
Just one more day?
I begged her so often
To keep me there
She shut her eyes and shook her head
As if she didn't care
You see my sister was older
And out on her own
But instead of taking me in
She left me alone
She knew what went on there
She knew what he did
He did it to her too
When she was a kid
So I pray she'll understand
And empathize with me
But she only throws me back
Instead of setting me free
I squeeze her hand tighter...

Silent Moon
Comfort I find in the silent moon
Living with her humbles me
Outside of her face I have no home
But inside of her I am free
She's been my mother of long ago
And my best friend in hard times
Without her I'm completely alone
What would I do without her light that shines?
Her tears cleanse my sins away
And save my soul from dark death
Without her soul I live in solitude
Honestly, there is nothing left
Sadly now she leaves me to rest
Her archenemy takes over the sky

Sex, Lies, and Betrayal
A timid young girl
Never spoke much
So innocent she was
But yearned for a touch
He gave her the attention
And flattered her so
She was too naive
Wanting to take it slow
He promised her this
But soon crossed the line

Broken Ballerinas Land On Their Toes
Broken, beaten, tortured
The hardened wall I hit,
Never will I fall
But to his power I'll submit
I dance around the room
Avoiding all his blows
Soon my frozen tears
Fall as winter's snows

The power of your kiss
Slowly takes me under

The War Between Us
You signed away your life
To Uncle Sam and his evil ways
Your good intentions to save our souls
Are burdened by his want to enslave
So he sends you afar
To deserts and lands unknown
As I sit here and wait for your return
Patiently craving your journey home
I fell in love with a soldier
A warrior of unmatched bravery
But now because of this dreaded war
I am kept in unwanted slavery
No matter how much I beg
Or how badly I desire your touch
There will always be a war between us
Keeping us from what we want so much

The Edge of the Pier
The oncoming storm
Thrills the darkened skies
Birds sensing danger
They all begin to cry
All finding shelter
Except, of course, for me
On the edge of the pier
Standing above the sea
I take a deep breath
Lungs filling with moist air
I sit there all alone
A beautiful moment I won't share
Lightning strikes the water
The waves begin to churn
My desire for sweet death
Now in my heart burns
So easy it would be
Just to end it all
The salty ocean taking over
Breaking me in my fall
I slide closer...
