POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
Sometimes your thoughts need to become something more...
Taking responsibility.
God will send calamities upon my heathens
Oh will he now frail old reverend?
I’m sorry to say I just don’t believe you
My soul isn’t cursed with your dire delusions
So why did you bring me to this empty place?
With cathedrals and steeples that peer through the tree tops
I won’t be infected with your affliction
So are you still hoping to turn me with your one sided reason?
It’s not like I’m not a believer, I believe in plenty
Touch is sacred for your one true lover
But I won’t be a follower and employ a god
I don’t need a victim to lay down...

Your signature.
I’m going to hurt you
Understand?
The blood that drips
Down my empty hand
Recognise your workmanship?
You should
You did a good job
I’ll wear it proud
It goes deeper than skin
You really carved it in
Just like that
The scar is formed
A grotesque signature
Would that be yours?
Wouldn’t surprise me
One ounce at all…

If you had just looked.
I wanted to make it special
Make you feel divine and precious
But you never even noticed
I dressed up for you
Put on a little make-up
Draped our table with crimson velvet
Lit the wicks of the tall candle tapers
But you ignored it and pushed me away
Without even a glance of candid acknowledgement
I hope you choke and see for once
That I made all the effort
I tried once more to grab your attention
Wore that little black dress you once admired
Then made a cut for the palette of my morbidness
Painted my lips macabre...

No one ever is.
You make me feel naked
Like there's no place to hide
You saw right through me
When no one else ever tried.
I think that’s what did it
Why I felt it grow
It’s invasive presence
That I was not foretold.
The parasite that eats me
Spares no thought for my poor organs
It tears me to pieces
Why didn’t you warn me?
It hurts too much
I want it to go!
What in me makes it want to stay?
I don’t get it, make it leave.
I thought you cared about me
I guess I was wrong
Because otherwise you wouldn’t have...

Pain
You put away the sharp cutlery
Brushed away the shards of glass
You wouldn’t let my prick my finger
And feel a little pain
You folded away the page corners
Took away the jagged hate
I never learnt to avoid the dangers
That brought me to want such easy pain
Bloodied knee while out playing
Don’t be stupid that never happened
You kept me away from harm’s tempting ways
Now it’s so delicious, delicious pain
I’ve got it’s scent I’m a pain addict
I crave it’s acrid taste to...

Yours.
When the blood runs dry I hope you’ll finally wipe clean the score
There was never any need to ask, beg or summon
Because I was unwaveringly yours.
You slit my throat, cut my wrists despite my desperate implores
Drip, drip, drip a pool was formed
When the blood runs dry I hope you’ll finally wipe clean the score.
When you tied me up, I curled up, broke out in shivers and you just simply ignored
The cords pulled tight burned my skin but I kept weakly silent and screamed within
Because I was unwaveringly yours.
Do as you...

Masks don't cover your eyes.
At the end of the day masks are pretty pointless
Don’t get caught up in the jewelled distortions
Fake pleasured plastic smiles, tantalising dry tear drops
They are all imagined and of my own confused creation
I know this is probably a hypocritical plea
You desire escapism, a place to dream
You think they will never reveal what is truly hidden beneath
For that is for the mask’s own pained beholder
But they only hold your façade when there is sick gain to be made
There is a shocking breach in the mask’s faulty contract
Because your eyes...

Silence.
If every thought you keep is a secret
Then I am the guilty shadowed secret keeper
Have you noticed the quaintly silence?
That’s because time has quit it’s heavy breathing
I for one won’t miss the sickening tick
That reveals tragic misery and false led trickery
Which we for some reason deceitfully call love and adoration
The funny thing is you never even knew
Never asked, saw or even simply noticed
That darkness clings and corrupts the construction of my naïve soul
Without you there I gave myself over
Don’t be surprised to find me...

Leader.
You were an almighty god
Now your plain human
How does it feel to be of the losing?
Laughter tastes bitter on the scorned tongue
Yet you laugh like you’re the crazy one
Your insanity no longer aids you to ignore the primal drum
That leads the rest of us as a single battalion
You’ve got everything to gain, everything to lose
Never before had you feared the spill of blood
You used to order it for sick entertainment
But fear it you will, it’s going to kill you
The beautiful crimson liquid is your life’s syrup
Lose it fast and there’s simply...

You and me.
I am the child, don’t ask me to know,
You are the adult, so guide me won’t you?
I am the blind, don’t ask me for directions,
You are the sighted, so tell me the way.
I am the dumb, don’t ask me to explain,
You are the intellectual, so help me attain.
One for the other, an off kilter structure,
The balance will falter and so will we.

Whispers.
The darkness whispers to me
Just like It whispers to you
A deep thrilling thrum
At the base of your delicate ivory skull.
It tells me your secrets
Does It tell you mine?
Wow they’re quite shocking
Wait till you know mine,
Don’t worry there’s still plenty of time.
It hugs me in a blanket of secretive night
Do you embrace It with all your might?
I hope you do, because I find solace there
Don’t deny that you find it too.
I let It take over, a numbing drug
Don’t be shy, I’ll share, wouldn’t you?
It’s not illegal, but...

Thoughts.
I don’t know why
But it happens all the time
As though something is not completely right
A deep set confusion that wrestles with my hurting mind.
Try to ignore it and it just grows bigger
Everything is perfectly fine, but is it…
Why can everything be fine but not coexist?
Everyone smiles and makes you look as invisible as shivering mist
Sugar coated lies made to sound like promises
They just further break the sync
Struggling to make all the fractures fit
Once broken, can they be reunited and again fixed?
Let healing take commence, take it’s...
