POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
An Evening
The drunken head
The golf course full of graves
And the opportunity to hurt
For a million
Cynical years
Hurt, is more then an emotion
How does one finish a poem
Like this
Fuck you
The house is on fire
The golf course full of graves
And the opportunity to hurt
For a million
Cynical years
Hurt, is more then an emotion
How does one finish a poem
Like this
Fuck you
The house is on fire

Nothing Here...
I like books where the good guy dies
Killed by the bad guy
The End
Truthfully
I’ve never read one
Go to light a cigarette, the flame jumps once and calls it quits
Have to light it on the stove
A filthy habit I’m sure
But I’ve got worse
At least I’ve stopped pissing in bottles
A filthy and hazardous habit
Especially when you have the tendency to pass out on the floor
And wake up to drink the remnants of stale beer
The inevitable outcome is
Mistakes will be made.

Bones of Freedom
Trying to fend off a lifetime of nightmares
I search for answers among the ashes
Finding only the bones of those who’ve searched before me
So I ask a child what the truth is
She smiles as her small hand releases the red balloon
She’s held so long
Freedom she whispers
The balloon searching the winds for all the other colors
That’s how rainbows are made
She speaks with the infinite wisdom of a child
Of the dollar she got from the tooth fairy
And the balloon she bought with it

Juggling Wolves
This must surely be madness
Murder
The sound of the 1 a.m. train
Bodies just below the surface
Of the mighty Hudson
The smell of coal and diesel thick
Whiskey tinged with their taste
And a moon
So full of possibilities
That one can’t help but smile back
Drunken jack-o-lantern smile
So many years ago
The madness growing inside me
The simple act of murder
So pure
Under that same moon
So full
So pure
Just a simple...

The Sun Sets
Consider the razor
Drag it lightly across the skin
Just a test drive
Feel sorrow for the child that laughs at everything
And then yourself
Because you can’t

Just a test drive

And then yourself
Because you can’t

5 A.M. Sonata #2
Stare at the blank page
Mar it with words
Wonder about the women you love
Wonder if they’ll ever love you
Think about your mother
And your brothers first day of school
Wish that all you still had was homework
This is life
And life is brutal
Life pins you to the wall with a gun in your face
And doesn’t even want your wallet
Just wants you to live
Harder then it sounds?
I thought so
Who will you be when the trigger is...
Mar it with words
Wonder about the women you love
Wonder if they’ll ever love you
Think about your mother

Life #1
Wake up and go to work
Go home
Fuck someone you think you love
Wonder what love is
Sleep
And always forget your dreams
Again
Again
Again
Go home
Fuck someone you think you love
Wonder what love is
Sleep
And always forget your dreams
Again
Again
Again

And Quiet
Turn the light on and the world disappears
A smack and suddenly I’m awake
Where am I
Who is this girl
And Why is she Screaming at me
My pants around my ankles
The door slams
Tires Squeal
Finally
Some rest
A smack and suddenly I’m awake
Where am I
Who is this girl
And Why is she Screaming at me
My pants around my ankles
The door slams
Tires Squeal

Happy Feeling #1
Work in retail long enough and all you see is sheep
All you feel is hatred
Reach for the gun to save them all and it isn’t there
Realize that money can buy any fool happiness
Then the truth
I am no better just because mine is found in pills
And bottles
Only feeding a separate beast
I place the gun to my temple and squeeze
Nothing
I can’t afford the bullet.

5 A.M. Sonata
5 A.M. and I’m alone
If you understood anything I’d said
You’d know why I left
If I understood anything
I’d Probably Leave to
The seasons change
And I wait for the flood of emotions
But they never come
Rarely
Have they ever
So I drink
And I smoke
Wish that I could sleep
Cough and piss instead
Hear the same car
Stop and go
Like it does every morning
At 5 A.M.
Never...

America
America
Thats my shadow on the wall
Tongue tied in a thousand silent prayers
Washing away
The ashes and stains
My America
Of razors and discarded condoms
Hep-a-fied hypos
Upstate junkies
With their withdrawal drawl
Angels of the alleys
And dark dirt roads
I walk the frozen hell
Of those upstate roads
Looking for a law to piss on
Deserted in the shadows of the American Dream
Fractured, gaudy, and cold in the gutters

A Sunday Afternoon
A Sunday Afternoon
Sitting in a once white room
Now yellow with the tar of cigarettes
Red blinds drawn casting and orange glow on everything
I sit, with four junky whores
And listen
As they plan their day
When they're not looking
I glance up their dresses
What was once veal
Now ground hamburger
Stealing pills from their purses
Some for now
Some for later
As they begin to argue over stolen pills
I excuse myself and leave
I’ll...
