In & Out
Shutting things out
These walls you built so high
enclosing your heart
and all the fears you hide
Shutting things in
all your emotions remain tight
Sealed in the depths of your soul
they’re all just a hidden insight
But wait, within these walls there lies a cost
For love and joy too may be lost
Shutting things in & out
You may have avoided the pain
but what about the loneliness and sorrow
that still remain?

My mask
Oh, Mother how have you betrayed me
I’m not surprised that we’ve drifted apart
All that you spoke,
was that truly all what you perceived?
All my faults, all my flaws
is that only what you see?
oh don’t mind answering that,
it wouldn’t matter anymore to me.
You spoke of how all that I did,
was nothing but a charm, a fake, an illusion
all of that just to get what I want
but wasn’t that just your side of the story?
I don’t ask you to hear mine
but I ask, have you seen all those where I was truly the hero?
You claimed I wore...

Illusions
The difference between you and me is quite simple.
It's just that what you call a lie,
I call it being in an illusion.
Sometimes you tend to keep people
Under an illusion just to make them happy
By telling them the things that they wish to hear.
But I guess, keeping the ones you love
or perhaps anyone for that matter in an illusion,
Can be the best and the worst thing you can
ever do to them.
And again, It's ironic for me to say
I hate illusions when I love the one where
I force myself to be in, close to you.
It's just that what you call a lie,
I call it being in an illusion.
Sometimes you tend to keep people
Under an illusion just to make them happy
By telling them the things that they wish to hear.
But I guess, keeping the ones you love
or perhaps anyone for that matter in an illusion,
Can be the best and the worst thing you can

An Afterlife
I saw something cool and I wished so much to tell her all about it. I looked around for her, wandered from here to there, walked all the way up to her, just to turn around and go the other way. The words that I wished to say, simply stayed.
Why?
I truly don't know. Maybe because if I said what I wanted to, It would start something new. It would start something new but it would end the way it always does. And as much as I want something to be rather than not having anything at all... I don't think I have it in me to hold onto something temporary while the hope for having...

Pretending, I can't seem to play this game
I envy the stars that keep you accompanied
I wish if only it were me
That you were around
You don’t have to talk to me
Just a look would suffice
Hate me, call me names
Fight me, scream at me
We don’t have to be friends
I don’t mind being enemies
But acting like two complete strangers?
Pretending like nothing was ever there?
This silence in between,
Is worse than any of those blades
Rubbing against me
I wish if only it were me
That you were around
You don’t have to talk to me
Just a look would suffice

Writer's Block
Stuck having a writer's block,
I lay here thinking about what's going on.
I've got a deadline in almost 2 months,
It's hard to put the vivid thoughts on nouns and pronouns.
I got a test coming up this week
It might just be a paper sheet,
a paper sheet that the world often deems
I drift away thinking of history,
could we make it personal?
or leave it to the syllabus?
The syllabus to be covered?
or the syllabus yet to be discovered?
Got too many questions,
with answers barely
I pull out the textbooks and...
I lay here thinking about what's going on.

Her presence, My Tranquility
There is Something novel about her, Something quite unfamiliar.
She's cloudy and uncertain but spreads a sense of serenity.
The price of her presence was my level of sobriety.
Chaos, a Hidden Beauty.
Her tender delicacies, concealed by an untamed storm at the sea.
Her impulsive cravings yearn for a heart to love and feel compassionate towards.
Her cravings reserved for someone simply worthy.
A child of the cosmos, star dust spread in her eyes,
she was the queen in the skies.
And her presence?
It's what kept me at my tranquility.

Down came she,
crumbling in my arms.
She fell to her knees
And I caught her

Craving
Mahmoud Darwish Once said, “perhaps the moon is only pretty because it is far away.” I disagree, I’ve seen the moon upfront, and that? That right there trust me, is the most beautiful thing out there. Except one has to be worthy to experience it. And I am, a lot of things but worthy. Alas, thats something that has made my experience a curse. A curse that I’m bound to. An affection craved by I, would always remain as a craving.
