POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
I am. What else it there to say? My likes, dislikes, loves and wishes, mean nothing if I do not acknowledge that I simply am. That I breathe and experience. There is no greater explanation.
Pressure
Have you heard of the diamond,
That lies beneath the earth?
Have you learned the lesson,
That she offers with her worth?
We see it every day,
In the jewelry that we wear,
But have you ever thought,
Of the pain that put her there?
The beauty of the product,
So often masks the trial,
The many weights loaded,
That grows within each mile
For thousands of centuries
The fires will burn,
Aided by pressure,
Till a beauty she’ll turn
Pressed to great measures,
Yes, pressed to great lengths,
Burned in the heat,...

What You've Got
So you’re ready for death?
You think you’ve finished the test?
Don’t you know that you’re loved?
Don’t you see that you’re blessed?
Will it be worth it,
All the things you’ll be missing?
The flavors of this life,
Replaced by the death that you’re wishing?
Have you really had enough of the sky,
The caress of the wind,
Hearing the laughter of light,
Overcoming the darkness of sin?
Are you willing to pay the price,
The surrender will require,
Give up the potential,
For a dead-end desire?
You may think you are...

Remains of a Kaleidoscope
The forgotten remains of a kaleidoscope
All fractured prisms and scattered mirrors,
The tragedy instilled within a fragile hope
Births a retinue of doubts and fears
The cylinder’s been crushed beneath a heel
The patterns and scenes have all been mixed,
And yet you’re still required to feel
Demanded to trust that this light will be fixed
It’s all been divided, conquered and ruled
There’s no more kaleidoscopes, no more games,
The lighter weights of an innocent fool
Have now been swallowed in flames
How...

The Seeking
Every Poem
Every Story
Every atempt to write
Is simply the journey
The Seeking
To bring the truest story
Into the light

Move Me!
Hear my cry! Please, Lord turn to the sound
Chain me down with weights of steel;
Bend these knees till they touch the ground
And haunt this being with the pain you feel!
Force up these hands, demand your praise,
Drench this face with tears for the lost;
Enrapture these thoughts, clear the haze
And make me a captive through holy costs!
Lock me behind bars, silence that reigns,
Teach me to be patient, wait for you,
Correct my wandering feet with pain
A broken path you lovingly drew.
Drag me into the refinery of flames
Cast this...

Heal to Trick the Words
Words may bruise and broken
Wounds may never heal
But, love, a given token
Will parry, lance and broken
Evil intent shall kneel
Slow and steady coming
Is hope be brightened still
For the Son begins his rising
And shackles the pain we feel
Wounds may never heal
But, love, a given token
Will parry, lance and broken
Evil intent shall kneel
Slow and steady coming
Is hope be brightened still
For the Son begins his rising
And shackles the pain we feel

Haikus
Did deepen those pools
Of muddy constellation
Tirades love the sound
Corrupt the willing
Crystal reserves empathy
To blue skies above
Formed by rivers swift
Changed little by mortal minds
The blood of the earth
Music, rhythm fly
Striking an unhearing ear
Passion takes control
Monotony speech
Circles overhead, behind
Brain's listening skills
Color, is it real?
Or would the tree say 'Yes, Ma'am'?
Just a sense of mind
Cell phone rings, rings, rings, ...

Perception
Seeking and Understanding
Are twins of one birth
Each needing commanding
To receive all of their worth
Are twins of one birth
Each needing commanding
To receive all of their worth

Walls That Should Have Held
It was cemented
Solidified
Wrapped up
And embraced,
Fine like glass
Fractured with easy mistakes
Bindings of regard
Tightly nit
Set in a ring
To guard and protect,
Impalpable ranks
Designed to reflect
Weakened defense
Bend and knee
Promised
Key to the lever
An ecstatic heart
‘Be mine forever?’
Erected in length
For the tongue
Mighty weapon
Arrows with brutal endeavor
Piercing through
No more forever
Broken behind
Beating somehow
Lies, double edged
Whittle and sever...

Love What's Good for You
Love what's good for you', wasn't that the saying? So why did he continue to stare at the sun, despite the shooting pain it delivered into his retinas? Why did he lay on the roasted brick of his patio beneath the hot embrace of the noon-day sun, letting it bake him?
But then that's exactly why he was here, because the heat was all he thought about. His thinking was filled with thoughts of the pain delivering orb of gas in the cloudless blue sky. Of the way it warmed the stone beneath him, or the way it kissed his skin in an intimate threat. And when he closed his eyes, he only saw...

Shades of the Painters
Painters, what a tapestry –
You’ve painted without colors
Lines that bind the faded space
Maliciously dipped brushes
All the wrong darks in the world today
Give us a reason behind the keys
Weathered gray massacres
Strange to see those twisted locks
That wields the painter’s wrist
Unto crippled picture frames
Bright to black as we sing in the ink
Convinced ourselves its picture perfect
Wash it with screams
Dye it with pains
And instill self deception with a fog-like haze
The days were...

Midnight Tears
Why won’t they stop – these tears I bleed?
When will I be released, when will I be freed?
I don’t want to remember, remember the pain,
That falls even now like an endless rain.
Why won’t someone save me from the waters I’m in,
Because I’m no longer strong enough to swim,
I am unable to breathe through lungs that are shattered,
And am slowly losing hope in what mattered.
There’s a hole in my chest that’s bleeding and raw,
But I’m not brave enough to show such a flaw,
What is important, who am I,
And does it even matter when there is no...
