like gapes in a vessel submerged
flooding every orifice of my soul
with despair and loneliness

Lingering on in this hallowed life
drowning, gasping for air to breathe
constantly wondering why you?
forever blaming myself for the deed
that robbed you of life on this earth

who takes after you in every way
my last vestige for hope and reason
in a world that has grown dark and
